Ready to drive away 83 Vanagon Westfalia. Body: left rear panel. paint fading. a touch of rust there. Looks like there was some minor body work done. see pic. Engine: 1900 engine. had a professional rebuild done a while back. perhaps 5000 miles on the rebuild. not sure due to odometer issue. Starts. idles. cruises on the freeway. no problems. Clutch/Tranny: both working. not sure the history. Checked tranny fluid when I got it. it was clean. Had to replace the leaky clutch cylinder. that was the main issue when I bought it a few years ago. Brakes: work well. bled and replaced the old brake fluid. Glass: all good except windshield. has some pitting. a star and a small crack. crack has not expanded at least since I've owned it. so it's stable. Not quite ready for a replacement. There are two window screens on the sides. the right side is missing. Tires and wheels: 17" x 7. 5 Audi rims. Tires: ok. but towards the end of their life. not the beginning. Also taller tires would be better. nbsp;maybe another 2 inch in diameter. The stock Audi wheel caps wouldn't fit due to the VW axle. so I rigged up a set of caps. maybe not the best design. but they look ok. Interior: original seats and material. no rips Curtain package for all windows and bug screen for rear hatch. Electronics: somewhere along the line the fuse panel was replaced. All lights work except when you open the door. the interior light doesn't come on. It will go on manually. Wipers work. heater works. not sure about AC. fan is noisy so I don't use it. Radio has USB input. 3. 5 input. CD player. and a Bluetooth hookup but I've never used the BluetoothDash: Odometer wasn't working. they are vulnerable if you reset them while driving. I put a Getta gage in there. both odometer and speedometer work. but they both read about 50%. I have the Westy gauge if you want to fix it and use that one. I'm estimating the mileage at 200K based on the records and driving of the previous owner. it's probably less than that. Clock doesn't work. Gas guage sending unit recently replaced. along with gas tank grommets and hoses. but not gas lines. Dash no cracks. protected by dash mat. Kitchen: fridge works. but doesn't get that cold 50-55. Sink and water tank work. Propane two burner stove works. These westfalias of course come with a table that swings out. There is also a small table that is stored behind the driver seat. but this one does not have that table. only the big one. Upper pop up canvas has been replaced with the 3 vent canvas. House battery: there are two separate house batteries. in case you use one up you can toggle over to the other one. House batteries power the sink water pump. all the interior lights. and the radio. (Radio has a toggle to switch from main battery when driving to house battery when camping. ) It also powers two cigar lighter ports. a small power inverter. and a battery monitor. There's a USB to cigar lighter adapter if you need usb power. A float charger will charge the two house batteries and the main battery. but only one at a time. There is a 10amp solar charge controller if you are out camping away from a power source. it will also charge any of the three batteries. again one at a time. You will need a solar panel for this. two wires to the charge controller and you are all set. I have a little one I tested the system with but never got around to getting a 40-50 watt one. Interior lights: the stove light has been replaced with a slim led light. There is an added led reading light for use when the table is pulled out. Extras: extra front light when out in the woods. Roof rack (not shown) Bra. Rubber mat for main floor area. Anything I missed ask questions. Hopefully you can come out and see it in person and do a test drive.
