1975 VOLKSWAGEN T2 Bay Window campervan RED

With a heavy heart I am selling my T2 Camper van which has served me well as a fantastic promotional tool for my vintage clothing company over the past 3. 5 years. The van is used to travel to and from work. and sits outside my shop on a busy Glasgow West end street. to be honest it hasn't traveled much  further than from my home to my place of work. but has always been reliable and got me there and back.  

The van is realisticly priced to reflect it's location (you could buy it. take it down south. relist and make a good profit!) and the interior work and fittings required to make it a true camper. a bonus if you just want it for promtional purposes.

Its a 1975 T2 Bay window model. the van had some major renovation work prior to my initial purchase. however being new to these vehicles at that time a few things cropped up further down the line that are perhaps of worth mentioning. Some of the gaps it has to be said are not the greatest. but over all its very solid and seems pretty much a rot free van generally. which in my eyes is more important than gaps being a little off. as dealing with corrosion can lead to great expense. In the time I have owned the van there hasn't been much in the way of bubbling or signs of corrosion up top. and during its MOT's it has avoided the MOT tester poking great holes in its underside. so I think that verifys the general "solid" description I am giving.

It had a replacement 1600 Vege engine in 2010 at a cost of £2000. and hasn't covered many miles since. despite that hiccup. the overall mechanical side of things appears to be in good health with few issues to mention. if any. It has a  Monza exhaust system. disc front brakes. 15" Empi alloys in satin black. these could do with a refurb tbh. 205x55x15 tyres all with great tread. lowered suspension. which may not be to everyone's taste. but does give the van a great stance. Recent new battery. working pop up top. Saab leather front seats. the remainder of the interior is functional but could doing with some work to improve the overall look. but its really a blank canvas for the potential new owner. With that in mind. with a little effort  the van could easily be brought up to a higher standard if so desired. again thats something that would be up to the new owner.

As is the case with  all these van's and the way they perform. it does drive well. but really just for a vehicle of this type and age. however if your not used to such vehicles it may take a bit of getting used to. its not going to drive like an 05 plate ford focus!

To sum up. I think its best to describe it as a pretty solid. honest. and reliable workhorse. nbsp; it my not be a 20k trailer/show queen. however its turned plenty of heads and receives plenty of attention. which is enough for me. as it draws in business. which once again is what I bought it for. Reason for sale is I require a larger modern panel van to do stock runs up and down the length of the country. please note I am not interested in any p/x's 

N/B  Drivers door lock barrel has just recently broken (it can still be locked from inside). However I might be able to address this prior to the end of auction.
The company logo's can/will be removed at end of sale unless you wish to keep them. they are just stickers.
