Skoda 136 Rapid GT. MOT and Tax, many extras

I have decided it is now time to sell my Skoda Rapid

I have not quite completed it but am open to selling now or in a month or so time when I have finished it.

I have had it for four years now and have spent a lot of time making it my own. I bought it from an elderly chap who stopped using it about 15 years ago as he gave up driving. It had just 38. 00 miles on the clock.

When I bought it I stripped it down and had it resprayed in it's original Regal red but with a gloss black top half.

I then used every penny I had spare building it up bit by bit until the headgasket blew for the second time because of corrosion to the cylinder head and I took it off the road.

Things then spiralled out of control slightly and it took on the guise of Rapid GT as I fitted a futher multitude of electrics and extras.

It has now covered 85. 00 miles and I have almost finished the car but need to raise funds for a house deposit. Things still left to do are fit the gearbox that is being refurbed by P&R gearboxes of crawley. rebuild and fit the twin dellorto carburettors and tune them. build and fit beefier front shock absorber lower mounts. and refit the ARB. I plan to do that in the very near future but thought I would advertise the car and see if it generated much interest.

I expect there is more I have missed. With regards to the standard equipment. pretty much everything has been replaced.

Unfortunately it isn't perfect. The original paint was very crazed. and when the car had its respray the preparation lacked a little so as a result the new paint has sunk. This came as a big disappointment despite not showing up in photos. There are also bubbles of rust on the bottom of the doors. on the edge of the bonnet and on the tops of the wings. The firm that painted it has since closed.

The headlining has some stains I can't remove. and to be honest could do with being replaced.

The gearbox is very crunchy in second. third and fourth hence the replacement one that I plan to fit in the very near future

Obviously I have spent far too much time and money on the car and I will never get that back but I would like to recoop something for it.

Asking price for the finished item is £3500 but I am open to offers as I know this sounds high.

The car is a treat to drive and tests are welcome with prior arrangement and insurance.
