A rare and sought after Classic Mini Cooper Sport 500 with just 47. 42 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Number 120/500. Platinum Silver roof. door mirrors. and bonnet stripes. chrome brightwork. opening rear quarter windows. twin coachlines and decals. Mini winged bonnet and boot badges. derivative and GB boot badges. large body coloured wheelarch extensions. halogen headlamps. heated rear window. cream faced instrument gauges. analogue clock. alloy fascia. alloy gearknob. alloy door furniture. driver's airbag. side intrusion beams. perimetric anti-theft alarm with passive engine immobiliser and remote activation.

EXTERIOR
This historically important Mini was made at the end of the line. and part of a separate batch of 500 that see in the end of the Mini's production. Finished in original Anthracite (code LQW) with contrasting Platinum silver roof (code MNX) the paintwork boasts a beautiful deep shine with a silky smooth and uniform finish. This example has remained structurally excellent and all original panels are remarkably free from rust or corrosion beneath the masculine Sport Pack. The bright chrome work to complement the polished paint completes the outstanding appearance of the car. The front bumper and grill have started to show signs of very minor dulling and the chrome rear GB lettering has pitted. All factory fitted glass. lights (including the rear high-level brake light in the rear window) and badges are in excellent order and remain manufacturer standard. The platinum silver bonnet stripes are slightly discoloured. A delightful classic Mini. the epitome of fun and extremely rare.

INTERIOR
These late Mini Coopers were lavishly trimmed. particularly so in the final ‘500' run out model. The full leather interior in Black and Nickle Silver (code WNP) is in incredible order with no rips or tears to the hide. although there is some very minor age related crazing to the leather in some areas. The bolsters and seat structure have remained free from wear and have retained all shape in integrity. The identifiable dash plaque only fitted to 500s is still mounted within the glove box compartment. This plaque states ‘THIS MINI IS ONE OF THE LAST 500 BUILT TO THE ORIGINAL SIR ALEC ISSIGONIS DESIGN'. The leather steering wheel has worn slightly smooth. but in no way does this spoil the superb interior of this example. The matching carpets and door cards are perfect. as is the leather padded dashboard and contrasting alloy finish fascia. All dials and gauges. together with other interior functions are in full working order. The original carpet mats are still fitted to the vehicle. An interior offering a befitting tribute to an iconic piece of motoring history.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Needing little introduction is the legendary and time proven Rover Group A-Series engine used throughout the entire life of the classic Mini. This final production car utilised the 1275cc unit mated to Multi-Point fuel Injection to lower emissions and increase performance. a revision that is truly evident in this example. The engine manages to deliver incredibly refined yet punchy 62bhp. and delivers a delightful yet unobtrusive rasp from the factory standard full stainless steel exhaust. The four speed gearbox is smooth. precise and a pleasure to use.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The original 13in sports style alloys wheels which were standard on the Cooper Sport 500 have remained in fantastic order and are shod in quality Yokohama 175/50/R13 tyres retaining excellent tread all round. There are some minor light scuff marks to the outer-most edges of the alloy wheel finish. The servo assisted brakes incorporating front discs and rear drums bring this lively little car to a prompt and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
