CONDITION

This car has been in my possession for two years and it's in immaculate condition. It was maintained and serviced on regular basis- Always at Fiat dealership. Only synthetic oil and premium gas were used- records available. Always garaged. Comes from mild North California climate(SF Bay Area).

It's my weekend car that me and my wife would take for trips down the CA coast. Never used for city commute. As a result. doors. fenders and bumpers are dent free and still look new (Please see pictures).

The leather seats are in perfect condition. no tears. cuts or cracks. Windshield is free of cracks and chips. The carpet is free of stains and cigarette burns- This car never been smoked in. neither by the owner. nor passengers. Driven by an adult. No alterations(engine. performance or otherwise) where done. Transmission and clutch are in perfect condition.

CLEAN TITLE

Note: not all clean titles are the same. This car was never even in any small fender-bender. (Important. since those are not always filed through insurance companies).

CLUTCH

Manual transmission has many advantages over automatic: Lower net weight of the car. lower gas usage. fewer breakdowns. lower repair costs and of course greater control of the car. But. when buying a car with manual transmission. your first concern should be is how good was the previous owner to the car's clutch? After all. transmission is the most expensive part after engine.

This car had only one driver with 30+ years of experience driving cars with manual transmissions. Also. since the car was mostly used for long trips. rather than in city traffic. the clutch has very little wear. It engages as new.

TIPS FOR DRIVERS

1. In cars with manual transmissions. drivers sometimes keep the clutch engaged when it's not time to brake or shift gears. This can wreak havoc with the hydraulic system where the pressure plates meet the flywheel. “Riding the clutch” causes those plates to graze the flywheel. wearing down the system in general and potentially setting you up for sudden clutch failure in the future.

2. Do not use your shift lever as a hand rest. The weight of your hand actually puts load on the sliders within your transmission. causing unnecessary wear.

3. Don't use the clutch to hold yourself on a hill. A common habit people have is to feather the clutch pedal (tap it repeatedly) so they can avoid rolling down a hill. What you're actually doing is burning out the friction material on your clutch disc. (Thankfully Abarth has ‘hill start assist feature')

4. Don't floor your gas pedal when your engine is at a low RPM. When you start flooring the gas pedal at low RPMs. you're sending your vehicle a mixed signal. Your car thinks is should be relaxing. while your foot is telling it to step on it. It stresses the engine out. which will eventually lead to the need for repairs. This is what's called “lugging the engine. Rather than flooring it while you're in 5th gear. just downshift.

P. S.

Since everyone's mastery of stick shift is different. and due to precise nature of FIAT'S engineered transmission. test drives will only be offered to buyers who are comfortable with the price and ready to buy. I'll be happy to give rides to all others.

I feel sad to part with Abarth. but have to make room for expanding family and other vehicles. Flexible on a price as long as it ends up in good hands.
