Here is a tale of a 1972 Round Wheel Arch MG MIDGET. Having owned a few MGBGT's I wanted a Midget. I set out with a fixed budget in mind and very soon I found this little stunner. Being a tall chap my wife was not convinced this was the car for me. but I won her over and soon the car was home. After driving it for a few weeks I decided it needed some work and so the lower rear wings were cut out and new panels welded into place. the rear was resprayed back to the doors. This then revealed that the car was several shades of white and so the car ended up with a full respray. Over the last two years the car has had new leather seat covers and foams. new carpets. hood. tyres all round and bumpers. along with electronic ignition. rebuilt carburettors. new battery. new clutch. LCB exhaust. fully poly-bushed and new dampers. the list goes on. That budget? totally blown away!Remember my wife? Well. she hates my pride and joy with a passion. it's even been on the covers of the MGOC and the Midget and Sprite Club magazines. she hasn't! Perhaps that's why she dislikes it so much. Anyway. back to my tale. she has to go (the car. not my wife!). I would love to keep her but I now have a new mistress in the shape of an MGB Roadster and as I have no space to keep them both the Midget has to go. So. if you want to put a smile on your face and have £5. 00. which is very near half of what I have paid out. she could be yours. She comes with almost a full year's MOT. free road tax and an annoying squeak which I think is coming from the bonnet hinge. I would love her to go to a good home but please bear in mind this car is 41 years old and needs to be treated with the respect and love a 41 year old deserves. She won't blast you up the M1 at 100mph but is very happy about town and on twisty country lanes with the roof down. always drawing a small crowd at country pubs and events (if you're not happy with crowds. buy a Hyundai!). So. to enjoy the wind in your hair (you need to provide your own) on sunny days and again I can't guarantee the sun this year. I'm told it's something to do with the gulf stream. get on the phone and call me to have a chat and arrange viewing. I'm not far from J11 M25 in Surrey. Nearly forgot. I have a brand new set of boot carpet which will be included in the sale.
