1962 TR3B. This is one of the rarest of the sidescreen cars. It has the body and chassis of the earlier TR3a. but the drivetrain of the TR4. Larger engine. all synchromesh transmission.

You can see from this last article that this car. TCF-1402. about halfway thought the TCF or late TR3B production. Obviously a rare and valuable car.

This particular car resided in the deep south since new. and retains its Alabama plate. It was restored at some point. and likely did not get driven much from the lack of wear and tear on the interior. All the vinyl is in very good shape except for one small tear on the side of the drivers seat. The carpet is very nice; all the trim. etc. is in very good shape. The paint job was not of high quality but it does look good from a few feet away and very good in pictures. The chrome is quite good but not show quality. All the pieces are there; the car is very complete. It still has the right distributor cap. wires. points and condenser. and is positive ground. You can also see the correct fabric wrapped harness in the trunk picture. The car has the very nice early luggage rack that pins into the hinges. It is in very good shape.

You will see that the rocker panels have been touched up. There is no rust hiding underneath; that is poor preparation that caused the paint to flake off. They may have been redone when the car was restored.

Everything works on this car – brake lights. headlights. horns. interior gage lights. gages. turn signals. brights/low. etc. I had the temperature gage and the front brake calipers all rebuilt. The front and rear brake hoses are new. I had ordered rubber hoses all around. but the supplier ran out and sent me a braided steel hose for the rear. I carefully bled all air out of the system using new DOT 4 brake fluid. The exhaust is stainless steel and in excellent shape. Battery is a Sears Die-Hard that is a few years old but has lots of life left in it.

It runs and drives very nicely; stops. shifts. does all the things this car should do and does them well. The body and frame are both straight with no rust. I have taken a lot of pictures from under the car to show you just how clean and straight both the frame and body are. The tires have good tread on them but are about 10 years old. The included spare has never been used. Top. tonneau. and hoodstick cover are included. There is a non-standard jack and a tire iron that come with the car. There are no sidescreens. The taillights are glass; the driver side has been broken and glued back together. The correct vent pull knob is included. as is a used rotor and condenser. new points. and a shop manual. Plus a T handle. and a screw driver that also works as a T handle.

No side curtains; no overdrive.

The car is in Dallas; my son who lives in Birmingham found it for me. Alabama does not title antique cars; the buyer will get a notorized bill of sale.
