Hi ebayers

It's my pleasure and privilege to offer for sale

this beautiful 60s icon

The FORD ANGLIA 105

in pompadour blue

This early saloon was registered May 1960

just 8 months after the Anglia was first launched. /strong>

and is on a PRE-suffix Reg number

604 JAE

valued at £2800 and advertised with Reg Transfers

but will go with the car if the car sells.

This model is one of around 30 left in existence and was a standard variant

made for the fleet market and did not have the full grill across the front

and there were no side chrome strips and light surrounds were the colour of the car.

There was only one sun visor on drivers side on this car.

This information has been sent to me by a fellow ebayer and Anglia enthusiast

so my thanks to John for this valuable insight.

Comes with MoT til 24th March 2014

having gone straight through the test save a bad contact on the left indicator now sorted.

FREE Road Tax - Historic Vehicle - will be taxed for 12 months on sale.

Just a note about the MoT.

Cars registered up to 31 December 1959 no longer need the MoT test.

As this one came along 5 months later it does require MoT every year.

That said. we would have put a MoT on it anyway as an idea of condition

and road worthiness.

It does qualify for FREE ROAD TAX however as it is classed as historic vehicle.

The car has covered up only 68. 00 miles

which is genuine mileage backed up by -

38 MoT Certificates dating back to 1972

and I've sorted all the receipts and invoices etc into date order

resulting in a 200+ page ring binder full of receipts and paperwork for the car

including a couple of letters and parts receipts

for the restoration which was done in 1989.

The original bill of sale dated May 1960 is also present with the paperwork

along with the original new car guarantee certificate.

Let me tell you - Eamon Andrews' Big Red Book' has got nothing on this car's life!

The car has been in the same family since new

with only 3 keepers in 53 years.

It's the two door saloon model

powered by a 4 cylinder 997cc engine mustering a huge 39BHP.

Coupled to a manual 4 speed gearbox

all in top running order.

There are no problems with the engine or gearbox at all

and there is no cambelt to worry about.

The car has just had oil & filter change (20W50 oil)

New plugs & points and a new condenser.

The car has also just had a brand new dynamo fitted

as the old one went u/s leaving the red warning light on all the time

Dynamo is fitted and in full working order.

The interior is in excellent all round condition

with re-covered seats with taylor made and fitted plastic seat covers

removed for photos and found to be like new.

In addition as you can see on the photos I've now bought a

brand new special to order taylor made carpet in Wedgewood blue

costing over £200.

The fitted underlay comes with it and it's ready to be properly

fitted straight into the car.

I will do this time permitting but in the interim I've just laid the pieces

roughly in their respective locations so you can see the carpet in the car.

It's a lovely quality pile all stitched with leather edging on all the pieces.

The car has a heater which is quite good really

and this was classed as a luxury extra on the car when new

as back then it wasn't a standard feature!

The floor is good clean and solid and covered with grey rubber matting throughout.

As you can see the underside of the floor has been well protected but underseal can cover rot

so I have included a photo of the inside of the floor with the mats removed and I can assure you

the floor is solid! I went round the whole floor thumping it with the base of my fist and it is solid!

I also dusted it with a used scotch pad to remove any loose flaky paint and a few little bits

lifted but it is bone dry and much of the original paint is still there.

The back under the rear seat base has had a plate welded in on the nearside but is now solid.

Also much of the brown in the drivers footwell is the old underlay where it has been glued in. /strong>

I had to pull quite a bit of it as it was all stuck down under the rubber mat and the glue is

a golden browny mustardy colour - only the small flaked areas are a light surface rust

but all the floor needs is a light sanding and clean up - treatment to seal it and re-paint.

I could do this actually if you wanted me to before taking the car but I'd need a couple of days

to ensure all the coatings and paint are dry.

I would paint it using a spray in the light blue same as the car.

Door cards are also very clean and undamage

and headlining is also good with no sagging.

The instrument panel is very distinctive retro panel

with the one dial working correctly. no incorrect readings

and all the backlights are working as normal

and warning lights work as normal.

The heater works on its setting demisting the screen fairly quick

and while not red hot it definitely takes the chill off on a cold day.

Windows are bicep builder winders both working fine in the front

Front and rear screens are good with no chips.

The body work is in very good order for its age with beautiful

pale blue solid paint and hardly any rust anywhere under this car.

Just a few spots of surface rust on the front

and bit of paint flake on door bottoms which are solid.

All the underneath is caked in Waxoyle sprayed under high pressure

so it's well protected.

The car looks stunning on the paintwork

there are some indications of the restoration work

and a couple of minor dinks on rear right wing

and nearside left door.

The front grill is the early original centre grill

in good condition with chrome edge.

The headlights are in good clean condition with no damage

and in full working order as normal

only point to note is left indicator flashes quicker than the right

because of the worn bulb holder after much effort to sort this

the only way would be a replacement or new part.

Inside the door shuts and boot etc is all clean and in very good condition

under the doors is all good with no rust. /strong>

the car is amazing and bears testimony to the excellent care and attention

lavished on it by previous owners and a very good restoration done in late 80s.

All the electrics work okay allbeit they are very simple

with no undue warning lights

or display gremlins and all indications are correct

and all lights come up on ignition and go off correctly.

Seat belts in the front only and in working order as required.

Brakes in full working order stopping the car in a straight line

and no juddering or uneven braking.

Handbrake works okay as well.

Inside the boot is as it should be - all in order

with inflated spare but jack missing.

Storage area is large and spacious and nice and clean and undamaged.

There is one key with the car

which operate the central locking and ignition

and the boot lock and fuel cap as well.

So there you have it!

An exceptional classic FORD ANGLIA

in very good order throughout

with very tidy bodywork. welcoming interior

comfy seats and a heater.

I feel this car could be a lovely wedding car

or a classic to own and enjoy personally.

I'm using it whenever good weather permits to get it running again

after being parked in the garage and it is just a sheer pleasure to drive

and it gets a lot of looks and attention.

We took it out on Easter Sunday and had a good number of folk

come and talk to us about the car and their fond (and not so fond!) memories

of their Ford Anglia.

It is very easy to drive with good visibility.

Comes with long MoT

Full service including new oil & filter

and a new set of points and condenser.

New spark plugs were fitted last November so they've been left in as they're still okay.

Will be taxed for one year on sale

and ready to go.

HARRY POTTER EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!!

The Anglia is offered on ebay for sale at

£5250

This includes the Reg plate which is fully transferable

We do need to sell the car now hence reduced price from £5995 down to £5250

after another big spend on it for the carpets. underlay & Dynamo.

Cash on collection is okay or bank transfer if preferred

and you can go online here at time of purchase if you wish.

Paypal also possible but I'm not willing to cover their excessive fees of around 3. 5%

so I ask you please bear that in mind if you wish to use paypal.
