Bear with me for pictures. I have plenty to upload.

After much careful consideration. more than a little prompting from “loved ones”.
I have reluctantly conceded to part with the one material work of art which I value above just about anything that was ever created by a man “even higher than a Gretsch Country Gent. a Pre-CBS Strat or a Supermarine Spitfire”. the latter of which incidentally was part of the inspiration in the design of the E Type.

So. for sale is my very original 72' E type Jaguar S3 Roadster. (correct UK 1S Chassis number) which I have cared for and maintained in as sympathetic and original condition as possible. retaining all the original panels. all original interior and matching numbers drive-train.
Note: Yes. I do have the original complete stow-box. the rear seat (which has a history all of it's own) simply slots right in. which was needed for when my daughter was younger and used to accompany us to events etc. Easily removed.

Obviously renewals of wear items such as rubber seals. IRS overhaul. discs. pads. shock absorbers. brake m/cyl . servo rebuild. stainless braided brake lines. (incidentally. SNG copy  pattern for rear braded pipe was taken from my car).
power steering seals. alternator reconditioned. the all important 3 bearing Water pump modification. carb's overhauled. Opus upgrade etc. (The original Opus is probably the main reason why S3's have such comparatively low mileage)
I can not list all the renewals which I have carried out in my ownership as I simply can't remember. but in all honesty the car is now a very tight driver and vastly improved to the car which I first took ownership of nearly a decade ago.

I have a vast knowledge of E types to say the least and as such I have cared well for my car from the moment I was fortunate enough to own it.
Myself and the previous owner can personally account for the history dating back near enough 29 years. prior to this I have invoices. MOT certificates and documents dating back to July 1975 when the car was just 3 years old. which consistently correlates with mileage reading of 60270 to date. This may go up a little as I still drive the car on occasion keeping it in good order.
The first owner who took delivery of this car when new from Henleys London. is not accounted for even on the Heritage Certificate.

On paint and bodywork
The body is in really good condition. Bonnet. Boot lid. Door shells. Front and Rear Bulkheads. Floors. Inner and Outer Sills. Frames etc.
As for paint. nbsp; from the pictures the car appears gleaming and lovely and is still very presentable. but there are micro-blisters in numerous areas and the colour is faded. due to an over-paint in the late 80's.
I have been reluctant to re-paint it myself as I have never felt it to be of any urgency. Although I would not consider it needed anything other than a purely cosmetic over-paint  and definitely not a “bare metal” exposure !
There are a few eruptions under the paint isolated to the bottom of the O/S door skin. nbsp; O/S front wing and a tiny little bit to the lower O/S rear  quarter panel which are negligible and nothing more than the size of a 20p piece. I'd rather it be seen for exactly what it is. than to cover anything up with an all over fresh re-paint. which can leave anybody guessing as to what lies beneath !

The registration plate XLL 10 is pre 63 dateless. I can not find a value for it. as this type of number is usually POA. although I did once see XLL 1 on sale for near enough £9. 00 . XLL 27 is on the oldest known existing Mini. but would guess this number is quite a high value in itself.

All too often I see cars described as “perfect” or “fully restored”. nbsp; my car is neither of these. but what it does have is the correct patina. retaining “as near to what it left Browns Lane as“ that you are likely to ever see again.

And for anyone who is familiar with genuine original E Types.
It smells exactly right. !!

I will try to answer e-mails as promptly as I can. so if you have any questions feel free to ask.
