1959 BENTLEY S1 Restoration project / spares repairs, power steering

Bentley S1.  1959.

Selling as a rewarding restoration project or for spares or dismantling.

I bought this car approx 2 months ago as a running and driving car after being gently recommissioned from a long sleepy storage. i have since this time removed the engine and  auto gearbox. The Engine is being used for another project i have here and as such the engine and most of its ancillaries will not be included in the sale. The gearbox was quiet and smooth so would be great as a replacement. The brakes need stripping and rebuilding etc as they were not great!

The car has covered only 75k miles.

MORE IMPORTANTLY THE CAR WAS FITTED WITH THE RARE POWER STEERING OPTION FROM NEW. all the parts for the power steering are included within the auction. pump. double pulleys etc. Ideal to transfer to a non power steering car!!

The bodywork will require attention although the front wings seem fairly solid and a good basis to start with. Underneath will require a fair amount of welding. wheels seem ok although the tyre will need replacing!. the lights etcare all there as are both bumpers and parts. The Rad shell is also present and in pretty reasonable order. all chrome trims seem to be present. The interior is salvageable and with a little love and time could be used. The woodwork is seemingly in good order but requiring re lacquering. The headlining is well. requiring replacement as it is a bit motheaten! the glass is ok. All the instruments seem complete as do mst dashboard switches etc. Unsure of operation of windows as i was never interested in these.

There is also a fairly valuable number plate 45 22 DG which i beleive is transferrable (no special notes on the logbook to say otherwise. ) of course this will require a valid Mot to do so.

Basically you are buying a complete car minus the engine and a few ancillaries.

I Know what the car is worth and it is currentley underwritten by a specialist dismantler close to my asking price.

I will listen to sensible offers close to the asking price as i am not unreasonable.

I would like the car to be paid for within 5 days and collected within 2 weeks of the auction end as its taking up a parking space i would rather use! I can deliver locally for a small fee or i have contacts for a transport company if needed. i am able to assist with loading although i reccomend you bring a trailer with a winch.  I would strongly advise you to view the car before buying. Please no timewasters or tyre kickers. albainian scammers. dodgy sending of your dead aunts funds to stop the nigerian government claiming it all etc etc i have heard them all.   apologies to all the genuine ebayers but i have had hassle before with time wasters.
