This 246 GTS Dino was original sold by Hollywood Sport Cars to Cher Bono who at the time was living in the famous Carolwood estate in Beverly Hills. Around this time she was getting divorced from Sonny Bono and kept the Dino GTS for almost two years before selling it to the second owner Chris Cord from Beverly Hills. Chris Cord comes from a family of automotive royalty; he is the grandson of E. L. Cord and has owned some significant Ferraris including a GTo.  04036 had another brief stint in ownership with Mr. Cord until being purchased by its longtime caretaker Donald McDonald a prominent bridge architect from San Francisco. Mr. Mcdonald would go on to own 04036 for almost four decades until being discovered in his San Francisco garage earlier this year.
 
Today 04036 is being offered for sale for the first time since 1974. presented in the condition as it was discovered.  It has older paint and mostly original interior with targa top. Mr. Mcdonald used the car as a daily driver in the 70's and always kept up with the maintenance. By 1982 he had accumulated about 56. 00 miles and the use began to diminish. it shows 65. 00 original miles today. The exhaust was updated to a Stebro System at some point and it really sounds great.
 
04036 start easily with no hesitation and no smoking. The most recent service document is from 2009 at which point it had a new water pump installed and the carburetors tuned. We recommend a full inspection and tune up before any major driving. The light switch mechanism is broken so the lights are not operable. the gauges and other electrical are working properly. Overall the cosmetics could use attention. The paint has several wear spots and scratches and the interior is tired. either way it's a great base and our intention has always been to offer it as-discovered.
 
There is a file folder of extensive service records dating from 1976-2009 and also the original California registration to Cher Bono and later to Chris Cord. The sale also includes a Marcel Massini history report. the original owner's manual with leather pouch. original warranty card. service booklet. jack. partial toolkit. original steering wheel. and service records.
 
Also recognized in the Dino registry. 04036 is a great example to preserve as-is. or a great and complete car to take to the next level.   Its ownership provenance certainly adds to its appeal and will always set it apart from any other Dino.
