Thank you for looking at my auction of a 1963 Buick Riviera.  This is the first year of iconic GM designer Bill Mitchell's gentlemen's muscle car.  It was Buick's answer to the Ford Thunderbird.  This car was a highly optioned model when it hit the dealer showroom in the fall of 1962.  The color is a bright and deep show stopping metallic gold (not Grandpa Gold) which is not the original stock color.  This car was originally a copper brown color known as bronze mist and you can see that color on the VIN plate against the firewall as shown in one of the pictures.  It was repainted by a previous owner when it still lived in Arizona.  The interior is a light tan or beige and is two tone with leather and then cloth inlays.  This is an exceptional driver quality vehicle and the best part is the body. which is solid all around and no rust. surface or otherwise; a result of living many years in the desert Southwest. If you are buying one of these you can fix anything mechanical but you want a good. dry and rust-free "Southern" body!  The engine is a strong and smooth 401 cubic inch V8 Buick Nailhead.  The transmission is the original Buick Hydramatic and shifts smooth and quiet. All seals were replaced last year.  The dual exhaust mufflers have a nice beefy and throaty sound which you can listen to (and see a poorly shot video of) on YouTube if you look up "Fat Mike's 1963 Riviera".  Please see ALL of the pictures for details and reach out to me if you have any questions.  I am 52 years old and a responsible family man who buys and sells cars from time to time on eBay. I will answer any question quickly and am happy to show the car to you.  My wife and I both drive this car and I would not hesitate to fire it up and drive it from Chicago to New York or Texas.  It has aftermarket temperature and oil pressure gauges and I have never had problems with either even when stuck in some heavy Chicago traffic.  The power steering. power brakes. power windows.  and (aftermarket) AM/FM Stereo and CD player all work well. The side vent windows do not operate but I have replacement gears for them.  There is even a hookup for Sirius XM satellite radio (which I never used).  I have the original radio and that will be included too.  The dashboard has several cracks and the A/C. power seat. driver side mirror adjustment. power antenna and automatic headlight dimming feature do not work.  I never looked into repairing any of them.  The interior was redone in part and the wood panels on the doors are showing age and there is a hole in the headliner behind the drivers door but everything else is excellent.  The headlights (and brights). brake lights. windshield wipers and turn signals all work. I just got the car back from my mechanic as I wanted it in perfect running condition for the new owner! The air conditioning may just need a charge but I never tried as this vehicle is best enjoyed with all four windows down.  This car has spent it's recent winters covered in a heated. indoor garage.  My last child left for college and my wife and I bought a tandem bicycle which we want to travel around with so this car is being sold to buy an old pickup truck.  You are buying a quality vehicle so bid early and often as the reserve is reasonable. Please note I do not work on my own cars and have trusted mechanics do everything. As you read this ad the speedometer cable has been replaced (although I still need a small plastic part for it to be fixed). the front brakes have been completely redone including a several hundred dollar repair on a vacuum canister. all bulbs and turn signals. etc. have been inspected and replaced where necessary and the oil and filter has been changed as I normally do towards the end of the Illinois "classic car" driving season.   To the best of my knowledge this vehicle has never been driven in snow! You are welcome to inspect the vehicle before you bid BUT if you bid please know that you are meaning to buy this car and not come and "check it out".  This is a 54 year old vehicle and you are buying it in as is condition.  I am asking for a $500 deposit via PayPal at the auction end and the remainder cash on pickup.  Any receipts and chassis manuals. etc. go with the vehicle too.  Thanks again and good luck bidding.  If you win you will like it!
