Hi. Thanks for viewing this car. I would like to start off by saying that this 1965 Mustang Fastback is nothing like most of the other Shelby GT350 replicas where they take a Mustang and simply change hoods and add stripes and then call it a Shelby clone. Please read this entire description to fully understand what I mean by this. First off. this car is an original A-Code (5th digit in vin. which means it is a real 289 4 barrel car). Manual trans. REAL Fastback ( 3rd & 4th digits in vin. must be and are 09 ) Mustang (not a coupe turned into a fastback. which is a big trend to do today because of the popularity of the fastbacks. be careful there!). It has been a Florida car for very many years. One local owner had it since before 1985 and then sold it to another local person I know in 1995. He then proceeded to have the car Completely Restored on a Rotisserie with all new metal everywhere including a full floor-pan (not a patch job here by any means). This was done by a mustang restoration shop well known for high quality mustangs here in South Florida for many years. The car took about 2 and a half years to fully restore and he had well over $45. 00. 00 dollars into it. Everything on this car is either brand new or rebuilt. He built this car for serious vintage car racing as a '65 Shebly GT350R replica. It turned out so well and he had SO much money into it that he didn't want to take a chance with it on the race track. so it ended up sitting for years in his garage. He then decided to make it more street-able but never really did much and only drove it on the street less than 200 miles (yes. the odometer works since the restoration). I bought it from him over 5 years ago and I put another $8. 00. 00 dollars into it myself to make it an incredible street car. I changed some suspension (it was already all new. but it was too low) and then I did another fresh alignment. I also put on different expensive Flowmaster special low-profile mufflers to make it a 65 GT350-style side exhaust system. The sound is nothing short of fantastic. I installed Brand-New 65 GT350 style Cragar Wheels (are also lightweight polished aluminum) and Brand-New Radial T/A Tires (they all have less than 100 miles on them). I also installed a more street-able interior. including Brand-New Seats that fold forward and also recline and have much more forward and backward capability than stock mustang seat tracks do ( I am 6'4" and I can put my legs all the way forward). It really makes a comfort difference. I also installed a Brand-New (and expensive) Shelby-type Steering Wheel. It also has all Brand-New Racing-Type Seat Belts and GT350R radio and heater delete plates (for a better look). glove box and door. and sun visors(and hardware) and rear view mirror. . Ok. now I would like to get into some of the really good stuff. As I said earlier. this car was originally built to go racing and this car is as fast as it looks. It has a completely rebuilt and very built 351 Windsor engine with World Products racing heads including much larger valves and valve springs. Also. a perfect Comp Cams cam (for street and track) Roller Rockers. a Racing 750 Holley. all MSD Ignition. an Oil Cooling System and Much More. The engine pulls really. eally strong and revs incredibly fast. It really screams. If you heard this car under acceleration from a distance. you would wonder what race track is in that area. This car is definitely not just about looks! It also has a perfect shifting Ford Top-Loader 4-speed trans with a Competition Hurst Shifter and all Brand-New complete Clutch setup. It also has all new 4 Wheel Disc Brakes (Yes. 4 wheel discs!!) . It has a Real Ford 9' Rear-end and I think the rear gears are about 3:90 to 1. It also has a New Fuel-Safe Fuel Cell (over $800. 00 alone) and a very expensive Fire-Supression System. You can see in the pictures that the car also has the correct '65 Shelby-type Traction Bar set-up (in rear-seat area). and correct '65GT350R Functional Side-Scoops that runs through tubes in the interior to cool the rear brakes. The car has all new-suspension and NO play in the Steering Wheel (it is very tight and responds instantly). all Brand-new instrumentation that all works (including an accurate speedometer and odometer) that are all Auto-Meter gauges. all working light and turn signals. rear mounted New Optima Battery. a inboard battery Cut-off Switch (which is great if the cars sits awhile too). new outside Shelby-Style Racing Mirrors. and the list just keeps going. . Now. I want to make it very clear that even though some of the restoration is 16 years old and some of it is very recent. this ENTIRE CAR is basically still All NEW with only 370 miles on it!!! It has always been in a climate controlled garage and the body and paint on this Mustang is absolutely beautiful (and high quality) and has NO Rust (Really!! I know a lot of people lie about that. however. hat is not the case here!!) and NO little bubbles. It is a testament to how well this car was built. It is really straight and the paint and body puts most recent mustang restorations to shame. Even all the chrome trim. all bezels. handles and bumpers are all perfect mint condition. Also. the Shelby style hood is a high quality metal and glass hood and has no waves like the cheaper (and Much more common) glass only hoods. and the fit of this hood is excellent (see pics. ). I looked at quite a few of these Shelby Replicas thru the years and. by far. most just didn't compare. . OK. as far as mechanically and street driveability. it just doesn't get any better. This mustang is very light and extremely fast but it is now a fantastic street car. The horsepower to weight ratio is very impressive. The ride and suspension is just perfect for the street. It doesnt ride hard at all on the roads like some of these do. yet still has fantastic handling. It has no squeaks or rattles like most old cars and is super tight (no noises at all other than the beautiful music coming out of the exhaust) . I really believe you could drive this car anywhere. It runs fine on pump premium and never runs hot. even in traffic in this South Florida heat and there are not a lot of muscle cars that you can say that about. I really hope I can take any interested persons for a ride in this car to prove everything I am saying. The perfect combination of performance. sound and the street driveability of this car will impress anyone. I also wanted to mention that the decals on the car are the same as a few of the original GT350R's. but if you wanted to. are easily removable. The only thing that is painted on is the big main blue stripe down the middle of the car (again. similar to a couple of the real GT350R cars). . I know that this car absolutely can not be duplicated for anywhere near the price I am selling it for. even if you could do most of the work yourself (and that would be an INCREDIBLE amount of work). This truly is a no disappointment car. The sound of the car is as traffic stopping as the looks. so if you don't mind everybody (and I mean EVERYBODY) staring at you and honking and giving you thumbs up endlessly. then this car is for you. I wouldn't rob a bank with it. however the speed part of it would be good for that. I appreciate the newer muscle cars. but they are like driving an invisible car compared to the crazy amount of attention that the sounds and looks that this car gets ( I know. because I have a new one).
