1979 GMC Sierra 1500

 For sale: 1979 GMC Sierra Grande K15 4x4 dry western survivor from the Montana high desert. Original truck that has had two older owners before I got it. never lifted. wheeled. nbsp;mudded. or hooned. Has some minor rust. but here in the land of the prickly pear cactus and sagebrush. we don't get the major rot that's so commonly seen on these square body trucks. When was the last time you saw a nice straight driver? All original down to the original jack. handle and lug wrench. Great classic truck that's inexpensive to own. repair. insure and license.

Exterior: Straight with only minor rust.  Would need paint to be really nice. Drivers door is dented as shown. small crease in fender.  Original but faded and peeling paint. Chrome is good (one damaged molding on driver door) with no pitting. Glass is good. External rust (other than surface) is limited to a spot behind the passenger rear wheel. and two small spots on each bottom cab corner. Doors. fenders. and box were spared from the tin worm. Hood is straight and not bent at the usual spot these bend.  Underbody rust in driver floor (couple of holes there) and inside rocker/brace area on both sides. Cab mounts and rest of undercarriage looks good. Splashpan area inside front fender behind wheel has the typical spot of rust. White house paint was spilled in box and some spatters on outside of truck. Overall good solid original condition - drive as is or restore.

Interior: Decent original driver condition. A few cracks in original dashpad and seat under the covers. Everything works as far as I can tell - radio. parking brake. lights. gauges. wipers. heater. etc. Heater switch has been replaced with aftermarket. Lap belts are there. (driver belt replaced). shoulder belts were removed.

Mechanical: Starts. runs. and drives out great with original 350 4 barrel and 4 speed transmission.  Truck has the desirable hubs and part-time 4x4. all in good working condition.  I ran with hubs locked in up to highway speeds and then ran in 4 hi and 4 lo. Power steering is quiet and brakes work well. Engine runs well for 137k miles and has good oil pressure with no major leaks. Does start with a puff of smoke at startup from valve seals. and will use oil over time.  Everything works as far as I can tell. all lights. gauges. parking brake. etc. Previous owner stated both fuel tanks worked. but I've only ran off the right side. Rally wheels are excellent with new rings and tires are very good 31 x 10. 50 Nokian traction radials. New Flowmaster exhaust sounds very healthy. Speedo head is noisy at times.

Pricing/Misc: This truck WILL SELL at NO RESERVE.   There is no buy it now. nbsp;so bid to win. Remember. all vintage cars and trucks need some work and there are always items to tinker with on them. This truck is 37 years old. so keep that in mind. You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the truck prior to bidding.  If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the truck. just ask! You will be answered quickly and honestly.  Transport is readily available. and definately cheaper than fixing rust on an eastern tetanus truck. Montana title is clear with no liens. Truck runs well. but flying in and driving the truck home isn't advisable. This is a rural state with a long way between towns and cell service is spotty. After the sale. I can store the truck for up to 30 days free. after that $100 per month storage will be due. Buyer needs to get insurance as soon as truck is paid for as I will cancel mine at that time.
