Due to an unexpected loss of storage space. I am offering up for auction at a "very low" reserve my 1969 Alfa Romeo GTV 1750cc.   105. 51  "garage find".   I received this email from Alfa Romeo Archives:

with reference to your request we are informing you as follows.

According to our documentation files. the chassis number AR 1530258 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce USA (105. 51). manufactured on the 11th February 1969 and sold on the 13th  February 1969 to Alfa Romeo Inc. . Newark. USA.

The body colour is red. with black skai interiors.

GTV's are considered by many to be one of the best looking Alfa's produced.   Designed by "Bertone" GT production started in 1964 and were sold in Europe through 1976.   Besides the early step nose models. The '69 1750 is considered by many Alfisti as one of the most desirable. and the only year for the very rare "flying buttress" seats.   GTV's are appreciating  nicely and premium examples  are commanding high prices and becoming excellent investments while the market continues to appreciate.   With that said. this original unrestored GTV represents a wonderful opportunity for the Alfisti  that always wanted a GTV but could not afford their appreciating values.

Specs:

Vin # AR 1530258.

1750 engine number is:  AR*00551*01293.

5 Speed Transmission.

Mileage 83. 00

Manufactured in February 11th 1969.

The Alfa has been garage stored for many years and will require a full restoration.   The Alfa was originally from Oklahoma and shows a 1982 inspection sticker. so I would say it's safe to say it's been stored since the early 80's.   Odometer shows 83. 00 miles.   It is mostly original except for the obvious later model 2000 series grill.   It still retains the original factory "501" red paint color and correct 1750cc engine with "Spica Fuel Injection".   The vin # designates this as a 105. 51 series USA GTV.   The Alfa is mostly complete and is in non-running condition.

The body is in original un-restored condition.   Since the Alfa was originally from Oklahoma. it has been well preserved considering how rust prone the Bertone Coupes are known to be.   The GT still retains the original factory rocker panels with the original correct rocker seams between the front and rear fenders.   Floors are all original and are quite solid as shown in the pictures.   Rust underneath is limited to the driver side seat mount area and also some rust around the driver's side drain plug at the foot well.   The exterior rust is limited to the driver's side dog leg area as shown in the picture as well as some other misc spots.   There is evidence of old body damage/repair to the nose panel that will need to be addressed during the restoration - there are some rust spots at the nose panel corners.   The fit of the hood at the nose panel is not that great. and the passenger side inner fender at the corner shows evidence of the old damage which is shown in the engine compartment picture.   Driver's side door hinge will need to be rebushed. There are some minor dents on the driver's side rear quarter panel as noted in the pictures.   Both rear wheel arches are in excellent condition with no sign of rust.   Both the rocker panels and lower front fenders are in excellent condition as well.   The spare tire well is in good condition as shown in the picture however there is no spare.   There is no rust around the front windshield or the rear window which is a typical rust area that is difficult to fix.   All glass is in good condition including the windshield.   The front sway bar mount area is all rust free without any issues as well as the battery tray.   As you can see. the GTV still retains the original correct factory steel wheels & hubcaps.

The interior is essentially original and still retains the very rare "flying buttress" seats.   These rare seats were only offered on 1969 GTV's which makes the 69's very unique. The seats are in pretty good shape - the headrests did not hold up as well as the rest of the seats as you can see in the pictures.   The rear seat has been well preserved including the top portion that is usually dried out from the sun.   All of the door panels are in good original condition.   The ashtray is missing from the center console.   The Alfa still has the original factory black steering wheel. and also the original shift knob.   It's fitted with a period correct "Blaupunkt" radio w/8 track.   Console and dash in original condition with typical cracks on the dash.   Comes with both ignition and door keys.   Both windows open and close with no issues with the window regulators.

The 1750cc Spica injected engine is not running.   The engine does turn over easily with a battery hooked up. but no attempt was made to start the Alfa due to the fuel system needing to be gone through.   The GTV is all correct and stock under the hood except for the dual brake boosters which had been removed at some point. but will be included in the sale.

As stated. the GTV represents a wonderful opportunity to be brought back to it's former glory.   To be clear. it will need a full restoration.   It is essentially complete with all of the important components (including correct engine) which is the most important part of selecting a car to restore.   I have set the reserve very low. so it is definitely affordable for the budget minded Alfisti that is looking for an easy project.   As stated. these cars are appreciating nicely and would make a very sound investment for the Alfisti that always wanted a GTV to restore - especially since it's the "right" color!  Comes with a clear title Wisconsin title.   Being sold in "as is" condition with no warranty needing full restoration.

I will be adding more pictures within the next few days.

For the motivated buyer. I will consider ending the auction early.

The fine print:  If you have 5 or less feedback transactions. you must contact me prior to bidding.   A non-refundable deposit of $500. 00 is due within 24 hours of the auction end.   If the deposit is not received. the Alfa will be offered to the next highest bidder.   The balance is due within 7 days of the auction end date.   The car must be picked up within 10 days of the auction end date.   A $10. 00 per day storage fee will be charged after the 10 days unless prior arrangements have been made.   I have sold several vintage cars to overseas buyers with the buyers being extremely pleased with the sale.     If you have any questions. do not hesitate to contact me.   I will do my best to answer any questions you may have.
