Welcome to the auction of my E Type Jaguar. I bought this with the best of intentions but have now retired and am off to see the world in my Motorhome. It would be a shame to leave such a thing of beauty languishing in my garage waiting for me to give it the odd night restoration here and there. So. Ive decided that someone else with more time and committment can enjoy undertaking (what I would consider) a light and sympathetic refurbishment/restoration of this iconic marque.

The chromework is all good with no rust and a good buff will bring her up as good as new. The paintwork needs a good buff to enjoy her over the summer but there is evidence of micro blistering and knowing whoever buys her will want the car correctly presented. a respray is the way forward. There are three small areas of surface bubbling but otherwise she's solid. there are NO holes in the bodywork and the underside appears solid. Obviously whilst I am giving an informed opinion of the vehicle status. the onus is on the prospective purchaser to satisfy themselves. so please feel welcome to visit and view.

All badges are present and correct and in good servicable order. There are no badges missing.

I made a start on the interior and that is in very good condition considering her age. A more thorough clean would. I'm sure return her to almost showroom condition inside. There are no rips. tears or holes anywhere and the leather still retains its lustre. The headlining requires replacement and I have a new one which will go with the car. I simply didnt get round to undertaking the work. I removed the rear door lock to adjust the striking plate and loch mechanism and although present it will be for the new owner to re-affix it. To be honest i'm afraid that if I start work on it. I'll find an excuse to keep it. There is also a new front adhesive number plate for the bonnet

Stainless steel exhausts are fitted as can be seen in the photographs. and they are in excellent order. The wire wheels would benefit from a repaint and the tyres are still perfectly serviceable.

There is a CD player fitted (sacrilege) and also an immobiliser. The car drove perfectly well priot to the winter storage and I had many weekends of enjoyment on the estate which borders my property. However it would seem the starter has jammed/stuck because although I have ignition I have no engagement of the starter motor. I'm hoping to organise an auto electrician prior to the auction end so I'll keep you posted. Clearly the car will have to be trailered away anyway and an examination/ fefurbishment of all mechanics is advised but I do hope to have the car mobile prior to auction end. Let me please assure you. we are not talking about a basket case here. simply suggesting normal recommisioning works. As stated above it has a manual 4 speed box with overdrive. The engine ran beautifully and the gearbox and overdrive were without fault. No smoke. no oil use and a consistently high oil pressure. The brakes worked fine and the steering was precise.  The car requires an MOT but in my opinion that will be achievable after some remedial works. This car is tax exempt.  I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU VIEW IF YOU INTEND BIDDING FOR THIS CAR. I WILL MAKE MYSELF AVAILABLE TO HELP. As I stated at the beginning of the ad. I'm now retired so I'll accomodate you whenever possible.

I've been as honest as possible in describing the car and perhaps have been a little harsh with my assessment. Please read my feedback and be assured in the knowledge that I don't tell fibs. It's demeaning to both myself and you. the bidder.  This car still maintains a presence and personally I understand why motorists coveted an E Type. Here's your chance to own one. an affodable iconic classic that will make you smile. This car can only increase in value and frankly my wife thinks it's a bad idea to sell it. However. as I said. it should be admired. enjoyed and driven.

PLEASE READ THIS PART. Bidders with less than 10 feedback or ANY negative feedback to contact me prior to bidding. thankyou. Note please that I will not ship abroad or indeed ship anywhere. The vehicle is to be collected from my home using a trailer or transporter. Regrettably I cannot accept bids from outwith the UK and am aware of all those tedious and tiresome scams. The winning bidder MUST pay a deposit of £250 via Paypal immediately at end of auction and the balance on collection in cash It is a token ammount but will satisfy me of your sincerity. If you are unable to do this PLEASE dont bid. Please dont contact me with silly offers. Please research a similar car and determine the value should you be unsure. This will then allow you to make a realistic bid/offer. As I stated I'm off abroad to tour so am not interested in a part exchange. I live beside Edinburgh Airport and would be happy to pick you up etc. I have the V5 in my name and a few old MOT's.

Thanks very much for taking the time to view this listing. Good Luck. Please visit. view the car and have a cup of tea. you're very welcome.
