A Fantastically rare original "Barn Find" 1947 Lincoln Club Coupe. Original paint and interior and only 36. 00 miles since new. The 292 Cu In V12 is almost silent at idle and is very smooth when running down the road. "Three on the tree" steering column mounted gear shifter with a split kickdown gear in 2nd and 3rd. To start it. you turn the key which allows the ignition switch to be pulled out to engage it. Then press the starter and the V12 spins to life. The car has a 6 volt system.
The front windows are hydro-electric. they are operated by a switch on the door and an electric motor rums a pump under the hood and operates the windows. They are strong and silent and work perfectly. Both can be controlled by the drivers door. The drivers door also has a remote operated mirror with internal control. The rear windows pivot open on a vertical axis to provide throughflow for the rear passengers. The car can hold three people in the front and three in the rear. There are rear footrests in the back. along with other comforts like a interior light switch and magazine holders. The front seats tip forward at an angle to allow the rear passengers wide easy access. The headliner is perfect. The drivers side armrest on the door has a few stitches giving way on it but that is about it for defects inside. Both doors open and close almost silently. No slamming required. The car looks like a 3 year old car. It is as if you were in 1950. looking at a 1947 model. It is truly remarkable that it has survived as well as it has. It was in a dry closed building in zero humidity in Northern California on the eastern side of the state.   There is a 1940 La Salle in that same building that is also for sale.   This car also has the original am radio in it. It comes on. but I have no am stations near here to tune it into.
The glass is excellent. so is the paint and interior. The engine bay is very clean and only a few drips of oil hang from the underside of the engine and gearbox as you would expect in a 66 year old car. The tires are only a few years old. Registration is current and the title is clear.
This car would actually drive to where a new owner lives. but if it is a long way. I'd suggest having it shipped just to keep the miles off it.
I have many pictures other than these. Please call or e-mail for further details. 530 306 4648 CA time (Mark)
