JAGUAR E TYPE V12 MANUAL, STUNNING THROUGHOUT, GENUINE 58,000 MILES

Welcome to my  auction for this stunning Jaguar E-type V12. the most beautiful car ever made (Enzo Ferrari's own words!). And he was right. The E-type was THE sports car to be seen in in the swinging 60's. with it's amazing sleek & curvy body & excellent power. In the 70's. some wanted even more power. so Jaguar came up with the series 3. by modifying the brakes. laring the wheel-arches to house wider rubber. nbsp;adding power steering & the best bit. dropping in their newly developed. all aluminium 5. 3 litre racing v12 engine. And what a hairy chested beast it is! In the real world. these are the fastest E- types off the production line (the initial Series 1 press cars were somewhat tuned for marketing purposes!). Power from the silky V12 is turbine smooth. & the torque figure of 288 lb-ft at just 3. 00 revs tells you just how available that power always is.  

This near mint example was registered new in the U. K in '72. & has the desirable manual 4 speed gearbox ( with a lovely precise change). It is not a low-powered American import converted to right-hand drive. The previous owner. a lady. had this car for 25 years. but did little mileage in it. hence the resulting low mileage you see today. with many previous mot certicates to verify this.

Just 2 years ago. she had the car fully restored. which included fitting full sills. rear wheel arches. lower front valance (a £500 panel on its own) & a full bare metal respray in Jaguar Signal Red. New door & boot seals were fitted. The wheels were refurbished. new chrome hubcaps & trims fitted & bumpers repaired & rechromed.  Now please study the photos & hopefully you can see just how straight the bodywork is. & the amazingly perfect paint finish (please note- the colour translation on my camera is poor. showing the red as a bit 'pink'- in the flesh. it is actually a very red 'Signal red'). The guy who carried out this work clearly takes alot of pride in what he does. it's a superb job. The car was then fully waxoiled to prevent future corrosion. Since this. the car has covered little miles. so there are no chips etc to her glossy coat.

There is an invoice present for a full brake overhaul just 700 miles ago (£1258) from a local Jaguar specialist- i know these guys. & they are the best. The car has just had a service. including new oil & filter & new air filters. The carbs have just had new diaphragms fitted & a balance. & she's purring as these big cats should be. Always starts easily. The drive is very good- no vibrations through the steering wheel. drives very straight & true. suspension works well (also sits very level) & the brakes are strong.  A full stainless exhaust system is fitted. All tyres have plenty of tread. including the spare.

The interior is a very fine place to be.  It retains the original full black leather seats. nbsp;which are all in very good condition. with little wear. The rear seat does have a very small cut in the leather. only really noticable upon closer inspection. The carpets are also original. & in good condition. but there is a worn patch by the clutch pedal. If you desire. a full new set of carpets can be fitted for £380. The dash looks great. with all dials functioning well. apart from the clock (correct only twice a day. ). A c. d player has been fitted. The original webasto full sunroof works perfectly & easily. & is a delight on a warm day. The original perspex visor is still in place. Sun visors have the usual frayed edges. again a new pair can be fitted at cost price.

This is a numbers matching car with its original engine. E-types as fine as this rarely surface. their owners preferring to keep them knowing what a very sound investment they are. These V12 manual gearbox examples actually had the lowest production run of all the series. & are becoming rarer still. so watch and weep as prices rapidly rise in the coming years. or be wise & invest in this exceptional example. These were a real contender for v12 Ferraris in their day. & when that engine is singing. you can't help but smile!
