Jowett Javelin

Hello and thank you for looking at my advert for my 1949 Jowett Javelin which I am selling as I am about to acquire another car (another Jowett!) and sadly don't have sufficient garage space (or brownie points from my wife!). My Javelin currently has the external resemblance to the 1949 Monte Carlo Rallye 1500cc class winner (Javelin's won a number of high profile competitions). she is not a rally car. just looks a bit like one! The car can be put back to original by replacing the bumpers. hub caps etc which will be included in the sale or I can fit them if the buyer wishes. The Javelin runs very well for a 64 year old car and put's a smile on my face whenever I drive her. and also on those who see her on the road. she generates a lot of positive interest.  
Mechanically she is sound and well maintained. with no oil in water or water in oil. carbs have had rebuild kits. electronic ignition fitted (hidden in the dizzy cap). she has just had a full service with tweaking/adjustment where required. I had the engine out over the winter and gave it a full clean down and prep. I have also recently changed the wooden floor with appropriately treated marine ply. The bodywork is generally solid but a bit scruffy as is the interior. personally this is how I like my old car's. where they show the life they have had through the years. patina. character. 'oily rag'. call it what you want.  
 The car can be used as it is or the new owner could 'improve' it if they wished. I have recently done a 150 mile round trip to a car show in Anglesey and she performed without a hitch. and was very comfortably also! The Javelin is taxed until August. however as it is pre 1973. this is free and MOT'd also until August. as it was registered before 1960 it is exempt - however I wIll put it through the MOT to ensure it complies with the requirements. She has a few little issues. the fuel gauge does not work. sometimes jumps out of reverse (common issue). but realistically this causes me no problems. I would recommend that the car is viewed before bidding as your opinion may be different from mine and she is 64 years old. however I have tried to be honest in my description. please be advised that the pictures form part of the description.  
 I am not a fan of timewasters. tyrekickers. loser's. idiot's etc. and won't entertain their antic's - so please don't bother me. by the way there is no 'buy it now' you will be ignored! Now to all you genuine Ebayer's. sorry about that. but I needed to say it! You are encouraged to view the Javelin to ensure that this is the car for you. I am located near Mold. North Wales. about 30 mins from Chester. The terms of sale are £200 by Paypal within 48hrs of auction end. and balance payable in cash on vehicle collection which needs to be within 10 days of auction end. There is no warranty given or implied. and the sale is final.
