1971 VW early Bay "Deluxe" (Low Light) TAX exempt. Very sought after model in rare "Elm Green". The 71 has disc brakes but still early bay styling. 1600 single port engine. True Californian import (Kernville CA). imported by myself in 2014 and then given a full restoration. Complete professional paint job inside and out (If I remember correctly the paint alone was nearly £1000). All doors were also painted inside.  
This bus has no rust. the front floors have never been welded. the wheel arches still have the original shiny paint underneath. Every window rubber and door seal were replaced with the highest quality available. New full TMI headlining. sun visors. floor mat & seat mats. Solid oak floor. full width "Rusty Lee" rock'n'roll bed and complete new interior/ upholstery in period colours/style. This bus has very rare "Ambulance fans" which are a godsend on a hot day or just for de-misting the front window. Deluxe clock. Deluxe seat backs. belt line. quarter lights. window rubbers all have Deluxe trim too (all deluxe parts are the original and not reproductions) Safari rear window. jail bars are genuine VW ones. Recently had new Bill Stein shocks. callipers were overhauled and fitted with new seals only a few hundred miles ago and work perfectly.  Three point belts are fitted front and rear.
The engine had been recently rebuilt when I got the bus. I have regularly changed the oil and never had a problem. It has never not started and never let me down. it has been 100% reliable but I do treat it well and take my time driving her. Only selling as we need a bigger vehicle. we will be truly sad to see her go:(A very smart looking bus. if you want to add a fridge and cooker it would be very simple. we just have a portable cooker which we used outside but the space it there if you want to add the fridge etc. . just not what we wanted. I ran out of room for more photos but have lots including prior to paint so you can see there is no filler or rusty holes. Hello, just want to know if the van is still to sell? Would it ce possible to know thé dimensions of thé square surface back the driver chair and front the passengers sofa? (Just to know how many place you have)
