£4699 or sensible offers. 1984 GOLF MK1 1. 1 . C TinTop 3 door. 54. 00 miles. 3 previous owners. Brilliant red colour I will start by saying I've been around Mk1 Golfs all my life and this one is the best most solid. lean and original example I've ever come across. At the moment in my personal collection my father and I own a Karmen clipper cabriolet 1. 8 and a silver 1. 3 mk1 golf and I thought they where both in great condition until I came across this beautiful mk1 1. 1 golf a few months ago. I brought this golf before I had passed my driving test with the intention of using it as an every day car to potter back and forth to work. However I used the car for a few months as I said pottering to work and back and I was then offered a job which requires me to commute further and in my opinion it would just be a shame to add so many miles to this great little car let alone leaving it alone for hours at a train station. So this therefore means this great little car will be left un used hence why I have decided to sell the mk1. My father and I took a great deal of time hunting down a clean MK1 example. because as you can image there are plenty of mucked about with MK1's and generally these alterations are not done with any degree of care. We purchased the Golf from a guy who intended to restore it. but no longer had the time due to his changing situation. He purchased the car from his friends elderly mother who got to old to drive. and only used the car to pop to the shops and back. she also kepted it garaged. The guy MoTed it. which it passed with no problem and he then himself only used it to drive around town and back never covering any major distance in the car or putting it under any stress. He again kept it original and un touched which for me and any real enthusiast is brilliant. started to restore it's body work but never really got very far. It came to us with minor car park dents and scuffs on some panels which where very easily buffed out leaving no trace behind. The car also came to us with an original but in my opinion ugly Bbs front skirt which I felt really took away from the cars appeal so I removed this and replaced it with an original bumper. it was also missing a front VW badge which I sourced from America and reunited with the car. the mk1 also didn't have a full set of chrome side strips but again I got hold of an original full 3 door set and again installed these on the car. Despite the few missing odds and sods there was absolutely nothing I could fault the car for and where NO major rust or body holes (Just old lady driver damage). The under side of the car is in terrific untouched condition so it's completely plausible that it's been garaged for most of it's life. So all my father and I had to do was source a few missing parts such as window winders. bumpers. badges and exterior trim. A small section of front valance corner was cut out. metal shaped and weld replaced. this I have pictures of. The rest of the panel/arch dents where buffed out and polished back to perfection . This little car is fantastic it is a brilliant shade of red one I had never seen before and one that many people mention and compliment on first glance. The car is all original and all original parts where sourced and fitted to the car as my father and I find that the mk1 was Perfect the way it was in 1984 and the mucked around with style just isn't out cup of tea. the flashiest we get was adding the classic bbs alloys which I felt added to the retro look and gave the car an added little flare. The alloys will be included in the sale. This car is extremely rare you just don't see a 1. 1 3 door mk1 anymore especially in this condition. Open to offers BUT . . . To buy a clean golf and source original parts is not a cheap process and I really do love this car and I'll be sad to see it go so please be sensible with your offers - We are not in any great hurry to sell and any silly offers will just be ignored.
