Here we have my 1970 MGB Roadster for sale. She's 46 years old and has worn really well but its time for someone to take her over after I have had her for over 10 years. I'm moving house soon and I have no house to move too as yet so she has to go before I cannot look after her. The car has been garaged all the time I have had the car but has been off the road for a number of years due to lack of time to do anything. There is no MOT so will need to be trailored away. but will drive onto a trailor. If the legislation is passed over the next 12 months this car will become MOT exempt as historical cares are already exempt. It is already road tax exempt as registered as a historic vehicle. She is in Old English White with wire wheels and has a matching hard top. Sorry the photos of the hard top were actual photos which I have taken a photo of and the quality is very poor. The hard top is in the rafters of my garage and as you can see is colour coded to the car. I have the rear perspex window for the hard top but its not fitted as it needs new window rubbers. Its quite a rare hard top called a Bermuda. The mileage on the car is 43000 and I believe it to be genuine. (its not been around the clock). The car starts and ticks over fine once warmed up. I regularly start her to keep parts moving. Clutch and gearbox are sound. The brakes are sticking a little through lack of use but I'm sure with a couple of hours work they can be freed off. All the electrics work and it has overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear. It has been kept under-sealed so I don't think it needs any welding but with a 46 year old car I cant guarantee that it wont. The soft top is relatively new but through lack of use the windows are a little cloudy but they do clean well. There is also a tonnau cover for when the roof is down. The body work is generally sound. wings and cills are solid. the drivers door bottom hinge in the door itself has gone and needs repair. I have a replacement door that can go with the car which is in good condition but would need painting. The petrol tank is new and the exhaust is in good condition. The seats are black vinyl and in good condition as generally are the carpets. I've loads of old documents that go with the car. Yes the car is in my name and I have the log book. I have a value that I think the car is worth and that's its reserve. I wont let it go for any less even though I have potential issues with moving and will find an alternative solution. if you want to view the car and would recommend you do please message me. The car has great potential and will make a great car for someone.

Hi i have had a lot of questions some about adding photos of the engine and boot and interior. unfortunately i am only allowed 12 photos so could only add one more. i chose the engine. the interior is in good condition as i said above vinyl seats in black with black carpets. it is 46 year old but they are ok. the boot floor is ok. it does have some surface rust where the paing has come off as the spare wheel etc has moved around along with other things in over the years. when you look at the inner wheel arches in the boot area they dont look so presentable but thats because they have waxoil on them. everything in the engine bay is original. i rechecked the mileage and its 40000 not 43000 as i originally said. i have owned the car since 2003 and it has had 5 previous owners to me in its life. apologies to all those wanting to come and see the car this week this has not been possible due to me being away on business. it is only possible to view the car this sunday or saturday by special arrangement but times are limited. if you want to view call me on 07721 630702. hope all this additional stuff helps.

Hi today I removed the hard top from the rafters of my garage after about 8 years. I mentioned in the original description that the rear window wasn't fitted and of course it isn't. however. the rubber seals around the two roof panels have gone hard over time and one of the corners of the near side roof panel has rotted and has dropped the panel a bit. to be honest all the rubbers need replacement and can be done with standard windscreen rubbers. I did start her up as I do a couple of times a month and she fired up well and ran evenly. as an observation I would say that I think the rubber shrouds on the valve stems have gone hard. they do without regular use and allow a small amount of oil into the cylinders. they cost about £4 to purchase and the job can be done without removing the head with a bent screwdriver through the sparkplug hole to hold each valve up in turn while removing the spring and collets with a home made tool. alternatively you can remove the head and do the job normally and the whole job can be done by a amateur mechanic in a day. hope this doesn't change anyones approach to bidding on the vehicle and if the current winning bidder is not happy please let me know.
