PRIVATE SALE OF A 1952 MG TD. FULLY RESTORED AND IN IMMACULATE CONDITION. for sale
Whether you are a car enthusiast. a collector or an investor. this is one of the finest MGs of its type available today and very worthy of consideration. and if this is so. it begs the question as to why I am selling it because. let me be clear. I don't need to. I would just prefer to use the space it takes up for my next project.
Having been imported from the USA it has been subjected to a full bare chassis restoration which included converting it to Right hand drive. fitting a 5 speed gearbox and being professionally bare metal painted.
The engine. which is the original one. has been fitted with new liners bored out to standard size with new pistons to match. The crankshaft is also standard size on all journals. The cylinder head has NOT been converted to run on unleaded fuel. I prefer to use an additive because of damage caused by modern fuels to other parts of the car (just my opinion).
Every part has been removed and either replaced or repaired and there too many of them to detail.
The interior trim is from an earlier restoration but is in prime condition as is the hood and side panels.
The chassis and engine numbers and the colour match the factory records. The three things that are not standard to the model are the burr walnut dash (restorers licence). the gearbox and the flashing indicators which aid driving in modern traffic.
For those that may wish to convert it back to LHD there are the pedals (the LDH pedal box is still in place) the dashboard and headlamps to go with the car.
Imported into this country in 2007 it was first registered in the UK in May 2012 by myself. Being a Historic Vehicle it is free to tax and will have a Tax Disc to April 2014. also because it was manufactured before 1960 it is no longer required to be MOTd. it was last tested in April 2012 and has been driven no more than 400 miles since.
