1994 Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Race car.
A very well known and respected 993 that has been built & maintained by us since 2008.
The donor car was purchased as a road car with some history and as such there is a V5c log book and it could with very little time and a few parts be put back on the road as a hardcore track day or "Sunday blast" car. Absolutely no big accidents since being built and 100% known race history as it's never been away from us (thanks to 2 very loyal customers) since 2008.
Always maintained and presented to a high standard to keep it a front running car. has raced in The Porsche Club GB club championship predominantly with a couple of AMOC races (with a win) latterly.
I could write a "War & Peace" list of whats been modified. replaced. upgraded but here are the pertinent facts:-
Built to PCGB class 1 spec with all the right bits in all the right places latterly with the addition of some Rennline adjustable rear arms to race in a couple of Amoc races. All parts avaliable to return it to PCGB spec easily/cheaply. Engine the subject of vast expense when built. £7. 5k of parts at "cost"and unlimited "free" engine build labour to precisely assemble it as built for an OPC (Porsche Center Byfleet/Brooklands). right on the class maximum allowed BHP/Kw when last tested. span > injectors flow calced. custom Wayne Schofield mapping etc. 0 hours on alternator and Rs clutch kit. Gearbox 8. 5 hours since refresh including selector console. synchro's. 2nd. rd/4th gear/hub etcSuspension dampers (JRZ Rs Pro Eibach springs) 1. 5hrs since overhaul/recharge. Rest of the suspension has all off the permitted modifications with many RS parts etc. Only ever run with Millers CFS 10w-60 NT (engine). CRX Ls NT (gearbox) & Castrol SRF (brakes)

The car has had engine oil and filter every 4 hrs running. gear oil every 6 hrs and has always inspected immediately after & "spannered up" prior to any event or test. Any items that have shown any concern have always been attended to and the car has been very reliable with only 2 mechanical DNF's (the throttle pedal ball joint popped off and 1 rear ball joint went south) in over 65 races and numerous testing session. I have never added it up (and probably would not wish to for our customers sanity) but I would think that there is around £60K invested in the build/upgrades (not accounting for the donor car) and at least £85K+ in maintenance between since 2009.
In fact I am proud to say that in virtually 20. 00 competitive miles (yes really 20k!) since we built the car the engine has never had more than service items and 1 rocker cover gasket replaced. Truly a testament to the strength of the core Porsche 993 quality of engineering (they would be broke or a 911 would cost £200k if they built cars like this now!) The car was originally built by us for Porsche Centre Byfleet/Brooklands OPC and raced by Scott Kavanaugh with notable success in 2009 including a pole. fastest lap and win (including having a 28 second lead over the field at Silverstone GP) in its maiden year. It was then sold to another customer of ours who has owned/raced it to date including a notable class win in AMOC on the Brands Hatch GP circuit. The current owner is still a valued customer and continues to race with us in a 996 Porsche. This car would still be a competitive class 1 car but would also be eligible to run as a class 2 car (I have checked with the PCGB and it would be the 1st 993 allowed/out in class 2) and would make a formidable mark in this class with a good driver.
The car is currently finished in a very distinctive wrap and carries a few light battle scars/cosmetic "character" marks. You may feel it requires improvement (or be happy with it as is) and we believe there is more than adequate scope allowed for this considering the very modest asking price. We would be happy to quote for any such remedial work after consultation.
I would expect any buyer to want to visit and inspect the car properly and I will gladly put my workshop at your disposal but please contact me to arrange this. We would be very happy to continue to run the car for the 2017 season and beyond or to discuss any works to return it to road legal specification. Having seen other arguably inferior or "murky" history/build cars come to market/auction in the last 18 months and sell for high prices we have taken instruction from our very motivated customer to advertise the car for a very sensible figure to ensure a sale. The car will be supplied with a second set of wheels and whatever spares we have (including some arms etc). We will also carry out a thorough inspection and spanner up as a minimum prior to sale.
Thanks for looking. no P/x's (unless very interesting!). no offers of infinite foreign wealth though I'm happy to arrange delivery or export at a reasonable cost. Please contact me Ian Gorham at County Classics Racing 01892 730996. 01892 722067 or 07877 434829 (sensible hours please) to discuss the way forward with this 993.
