1968 TAX EXEMPT VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE
Selling my 1968 beetle. only because of having a bay window project now coming to an end and also owning a mk2 golf. the beetle just doesn't get used enough and is currently kept dry in our garage. Owned the car for about two years. it has done less than 700 miles within the time we have owned it.
About the car. It has had a respray by one of the previous owners to a good quality. The colour is Renault Beige (CAMARGUE 139). The car has had a new 1600cc engine fitted to it along with twin Empi carbs also fitted with stainless steel headers and a Empi bugpack muffler. Stand off deck lid hinges are fitted on car the aswell. provides a better air flow to the engine. very easy to remove if its not your thing. With the sale i will also include a set of front and rear eurpoa bumpers that are primed and ready to be painted. and also a rear decklid. the solid version without the grilles in that is also primed ready to paint. i have have got a tin of paint colour matched for this.
It has black aftermarket steel wheels with a colour coded ring around the lip of them. the car is in very good condition. especially for the fact that its 48 years old!! This means that it is Tax Exempt too.
The interior is fitted with original front seats and rear bench that have been recovered in cream that match the car. they are in very good condition. also there is a rear parcel shelf behind the bench seat that has got two pioneer speakers in it. Has an after market sports steering wheel and steering boss.
The passenger door skin has a crack in it. have been quoted around £400 to do the repair. (can be seen in picture 11)
