1966 Volvo 122 S, Amazon, AC

I am the third owner of this car. having bought it in 2008. During that time I have put approximately 10. 00 miles on it. using it as a daily driver since I retired two years ago. We will be moving overseas and unfortunately will be unable to take the car with me.

 A recent tune up has the car running beautifully. Only synthetic oil has been used.

The seats have recently been restitched. two panels replaced and where needed the support webbing replaced.

The Following is a description from the second owner. when I purchased the car.

"I have owned this car since 1983. I bought it off the original owner. he was 66 years old when he sold it to me. The car was in very good shape when I bought it. It had 60. 00 miles when I bought it and I drove it for 30. 00 more miles then restored it. I put around $14. 00 into it including paint and worked on it off and on for about 4 years. Anyway the car was driven very little in the winter before I bought it and it was never in the snow after I got it.

The mechanical work was as follows:

I rebuilt a B20 engine. punched it out to 2100cc and used a IPD big bore kit. Installed oversized Stellite faced valves (so you can run unleaded gas) and a street performance cam. Did some mild port work and installed a 4 into 2 factory header off of B20B motor and ran it into a 2" stainless exhaust pipe back to the rear into the muffler. It has the original SU carbs that are re-jetted to the modifications.

There is as a new starter. alternator. master cylinder. universal joints. clutch master and slave cylinder rebuild. water pump. all with in the last year (2008). There is a brand new battery and the oil was just changed with synthetic and the valves were adjusted.

The AC was installed by the dealer in the USA - an installed aftermarket hang on unit made by Fridge King.

The transmission is a 5 speed. (4 with overdrive) Engine has an electric cooling fan that works with the AC and also on it's own thermostat. Brake system was converted to a double master cylinder.

There are IPD HD sway bars front and rear with urethane bushings. There is a custom made receiver hitch that will accept the smaller sized draw bar. I used to use it for a bike rack.

The stereo is a Blauplunkt cassette. The front speakers are under the front seats and the back ones sit on the back deck. The speakers are  enclosed.  There are no holes cut anywhere for speakers as I wanted to keep the cars interior original.

The floor is carpeted. custom made from the original floor mat. The three point manual seat belts were removed and replaced with retractable Kiplin belts front and rear from a Mercedes There is an original Volvo first aid kit. There is a custom made bra that comes with it.

There are  Michelin low profile rain tires installed on the stock rims. Car still has the original trim rings for the wheels. My goal was to keep the car looking as stock as possible on the outside and yet make it fun to run. This car will cruise all day at 80 mph and never miss a beat. Gets about 26 mpg on the highway at posted limits.

Paint is urethane and still looks like new for a 17 year old restoration. I built this car to last my lifetime. I took some awards at Volvo meets too.

Outside the body is perfect with only a few super small chips which I will try to show in pictures. "
