1965 Ford Mustang Fastback - Manual - 5.0L Upgrade - Power Steering & Air Con

This 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback was restored about 10 years ago. The car has been modified to include it's engine being upgraded to a carbureted (302) 5. 0L V8 with Ford racing cams which has been coupled to a manual 5‐speed Hurst gearbox with 3. 70 gears and limited‐slip differential. Four‐wheel disc brakes and power steering have also been added making this the easiest Mustang to drive ever. Perfect for small UK roads and even smaller parking spaces.  

The car was built at the Dearborn. Michigan plant as a C‐code fastback with factory under-dash Air Conditioning and was subsequently upgraded for performance and drivability and finished in Lincoln Silver Frost with Navy Shelby‐style stripes and a very sharp interior. Dubbed it the “5. 0 G. T. ”. it is a rust‐free car that's powerful. comfortable and sounds fantastic due to it's stainless steel exhaust system. There is no rust on the car whatsoever. you could eat any meal of your choice off the engine bay and the interior is just sublime.  

Mechanically. the car is as you would expect and way better. It starts first time every time and changing gear with the very expensive Hurst gearbox can only be compared to driving a new German car. For it's age. and compared to most similar cars which i've driven and owned. it's fast. very fast. It's pulls will huge amounts of power with no torque steer whatsoever and brakes in a perfectly straight line.  

The paint is in very good condition throughout. Bodywork wise. the doors shut lines are 9/10 and everything fits where it should. The car rides on American Racing 16×8 Torq Thrust wheels (with spare). A new Ford Carlite windshield was recently installed along with electric assisted windscreen washers.

The interior is in excellent condition overall with period racing spec lap belts and the fold down rear seats featured on all fastback Mustangs. Though not an original GT. the car has the 5‐dial instrument cluster found on ‘65 GTs (and non‐GTs with Deluxe interior). plus a GT steering wheel and tach. A period radio has also been fitted.  

This is not a project car which you'll have to pile fortunes into to get right and it's not far off showroom condition. This is a car you could drive every day. from today. Everything works. it turns heads wherever you go and will only ever appreciate. You could buy a standard automatic car for less money. but it will be far less car. I've owned 3 of these cars and I can truly say that there are Mustangs and then there are MUSTANGS. It has recently been MOT'd with no advisories and is accompanied with various invoices for recent work carried out. As with nearly all Mustangs of this age. the exact mileage is unknown and we can only go by miles covered since it's engine rebuild. which is around 5. 00. The odometer reads approximately 80. 00.
