The 1973 Porsche 911 is considered by all Porsche enthusiasts to be the single best 911 of all time. This is high praise when you consider the large number of 911 models built over the 50+ years since the model's introduction. The Carrera RS (Renn Sport) is still to this day the benchmark 911. the beautiful lines only being matched by the sheer delight of driving it. with its positive steering. exhilarating sound and linear performance. Built before the American "ugly bumper" era and the oil/fuel crisis. the RS had a purity of purpose that was not compromised by outside factors. For this reason. the Porsche RS Replica market has grown enormously and demand is far outstripping the supply of quality machines.

This original 1980  3. 0  (204hp) 911 Coupe. was built in March 1980 in right-hand drive. Offered here today due to a change in circumstances.

This car was bought by Jamie Nelson of Nelson Porsche about nine years ago.

The red car was stripped to bare metal and fitted with new panels before a colour change and high quality re-spray in black. Seven years of heated storage later. and the paint is still superb.

Boxes and boxes of new parts have been acquired for the rebuild over the years. All mild steel parts have been re-galvanised as original.

The car is absolutely identical. even down to the dashboard

her original 3. 0 engine from 1980. which at present has the cylinder heads off pending inspection / top end rebuild / modification etc. according to the buyers requirements.

The engine can be rebuilt / part rebuilt / tuned / or replaced by say a 3. 2 Carrera /or a custom built unit. all subject to negotiation.

It is our view that anyone who is spending serious money. would like to specify his or her own touches. such as engine. trim. wheels. tyres. exhaust. decals etc. In short. this car can be finished according to your own tastes; anything is possible. at your extra cost above what has been assembled.

So. if you have the money. here is a chance to own a completely rebuilt car to your specification. or assembled as is.

The man assembling the car is John Nelson. retired from Nelson Porsche and handed the reins to his son. Both their reputations are impeccable. John is a very good friend. who's built three Porsches for me in the past; he knows his way around 911's. ask anyone in the Northeast. They had considerable success in rally-cross.

The car has been stored in his heated garage at home. near Middlebrough. while all parts have been assembled. John alone is assembling the car. with painstaking attention to detail. This car will be ready before Christmas whether it's sold or not. We thought a buyer would want to be involved in finishing the car.
