1963 Lotus Elan S1 LHD Restoration Project for sale

A lack of time and space have forced the sale of this rare early (Dec 1963) Elan S1 restoration project.
Apparently stripped in the early 1970's for conversion to a club racer. the body has been fitted with flared front and rear wheel arches and the front bumper has been fibreglassed onto the body (see photos).
There are many items missing from this vehicle. but a lot of reproduction parts are now available from Tony Thompson Racing and Kelvedon Lotus.
The parts included with the car are shown in the photographs. there are no other items with the car.
The engine in the vehicle is not original and is incomplete. it is missing sump and camshaft caps amongst other things and has been dismantled (see photos).
The front anti-roll bar is not present. the front brake calipers have been removed. but are included.
The differential has been removed and there is a differential with the car. but I don't think that this is the original from the car.
The rear brake calipers are missing. the handbrake tree and rods are still fitted to the car.
The doors are missing any hinges. locks. window frames etc. The side windows shown are plastic.

A UK log book should be easily obtainable using a V55/5 form once the car has an MOT certificate.
The vehicle must be paid for and collected within 7 days of the end of the auction.
