A quick note to read first!

I'm fed up with eBay's inherent problem of non-paying bidders.

I sold a car recently for the winner only to tell me now he had won my car he was going to list his car on eBay and could not pay me even a deposit until he had sold his.

You see many adverts with people threatening to give you bad feedback. get you banned and take you to court - you bid to buy etc

these statements are just making the seller look bad. and let's face it if your making those statements it is often a reflection on your behaviour - people in glass houses I believe the expression.

eBay are the only winners. they get their money for listing and relisting and they don't even pay their taxes.

So I'm trying a different approach to see if this works. hence what you are now reading!

I'm listing my things on a buy it now. you can buy it without viewing at the asking price. but its instant payment in the settings.

or you are more than welcome to do the old fashioned thing of coming to see the car and taking it for a test drive if appropriate.

I have complete faith that the price is market value and the car is as described.

I am not a car trader but I have been in the past. I have worked on cars for more than 25 years but the past ten have been in design and manufacturing of kit cars.

then concepts and now I do only custom builds for a TV show. my sons illness mean I will never be able to work properly again as he needs constant intensive care way beyond leaving his mother to cope

and meaning I do not have the time to chase people into completing.

Why it's for sale…

Simple I bought it to add to my growing collection of classic cars. and possibly feature in the TV series I am involved in.

My sons unfolding illness is such that I need to liquidate some of my assets and clear off my mortgage and reduce my commitments so I can spend as much time at home. or hospital. with him as possible

and not worry about the monthly bills as much.

About the car…

I was very lucky to find this car. It was bought new by its one and only owner.

The log book states "none" former keepers. I believe it is the only 0 owner MG Metro Turbo still in existence and certainly the only one in this condition.

I have the latest logbook and the older ones plus lots of sorns and old tax disc.

We do not have any service history for it at this time. the family of the owner are in the process of clearing his house and as he kept everything he ever bought it may be found but assume its not included.

It does come with all 3 keys.

Dealer stickers and matching rear number plate with all matching Pirelli P600 tyres it was also fitted with period gearlever and steering autolocks that we have removed as the keys were lost for these items.

The car has just covered just over 50. 00 miles and is all original. it has been in a garage all its life and the owner was mad on cars.

when I bought this I also bought his 220 turbo tomcat coupe also with 50k miles also owned from new. there was 5 more cars at his home. I didnt get to buy!

It does need work. all the rubber window seals have dried up from being garaged all its life. tyres are perished but 3 hold air (car has all 5 alloys)

The sills look excellent. the floor looks free from any serious rust all the boot floor. inner wings and outer body is very good.

The passenger door has some rust on the bottom front outside corner as does the lower edge of the wing a few blisters around the bottom of the fuel cap.

close inspection reveals many small scratches and dents from parking/storage as to be expected.

We have checked it over and got it running. it starts stops and drives but will need to be properly recommissioned plus any other work you wish to do.

About buying the car…

Your more than welcome to come and view the car and see it running.

whilst it does drive it is not a drive away car and really needs to be on a trailer until the complete brakes. clutch. suspension and cooling system have been checked.

Remember this is an advert it is not an extensive detailed report and it is a guide for you to base your decision on not a sales contract.

you can have it inspected by any person or agency before purchase should you want a second opinion or not be car minded yourself.

I can have the car delivered for £1 per mile (calculated one way)

Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm someone will always be there if I am not available.

outside of these times I will need to meet you by appointment as it is 1. 5hrs from hospital or 30 mins from home depending where I am.

I'd prefer it to be between 9am and 9pm but will do my best as life seems to be a 24hr a day cycle at the moment.

I won't respond to any message that starts with "will you take…" it's the advertised price unless your stood in front of me and have a good reason why I should take less.

saying "my mate brought me over and I need to buy him some KFC on the way home. have you seen how big he is its going to cost me a fortune" whilst amusing is not a reason!!!

Full cleared payment before the car leaves. bank transfer preferred. cash on collection is fine other methods taken so long as it doesn't incur costs to me

I don't really want any part exchanges but will consider them only if it is in my favour to do so and within eBay rules.

So let's see how this approach works…
