EXTERIOR
This beautiful 1600E is finished in Ford Ermine White (code BA) and boasts a uniform bright shine. The exterior trim. bumpers and extra 1600E ornamentation is intact and in excellent order. aside from very minor pitting to the chrome work on the bumpers and slight dulling to the headlamps surrounds. There are photographs showing a full and comprehensive restoration a number of years ago so this example is incredibly sound structurally. Being an older restoration there are isolated areas. such as the bottom of each front wing. which has slight paint lift and minor crazing along some seams. All glass areas and lights are in excellent order. including the twin reversing lamps standard only on the 1600E model. Collectively a hugely commendable classic Ford exterior. with the added desirable 1600E kudos.

INTERIOR
The interior of this classic Cortina is truly awe-inspiring. The sculptured and sumptuous front and rear bucket seats are trimmed in black PVC (code B635) and remain in remarkable condition with no wear to the coverings. The seats have retained all integrity and shape. as have the matching door cards. The real walnut fascia and door cappings are in excellent order. aside from very negligible age related wear to the upper surface of the door cappings. All gauges housed in the stunning fascia are clear and fully operational. as are all other interior functions and controls. Replacement carpeting has been added which freshen up the overall interior feel. however the carpeting joins underneath the seats are not perfect. but are out of sight and do not detract at all from the impressive cabin offered with this example.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1600E is fitted with the high performance version of the 1600cc cross flow engine with a higher compression ratio so producing 93bhp at 5400rpm. This gives a top speed of 96mph and 0-60 in 11. 8 seconds. A full engine rebuild has been carried out including conversion to use unleaded fuel. The 4-speed transmission has a light short shift action.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
The 5 ½ inch rim styled wheels with painted rims and chromed spiders are in used condition and are shod in 165 SR13 tyres. The hydraulically operated and servo assisted brakes stop the car safely offering driver confidence.

HISTORY FILE
Photographic documentation of a body restoration and engine rebuild will offer the next owner of this executive Cortina assurance of a sound. usable example. The vehicle has had six former keepers and comes with various invoices and old MOT records.
