I AM RELUCTENTLY PUTTING UP FOR SALE MY MAGNIFICENT 1952 STANDARD VANGUARD PHASE 1.

WE HAVE OWNED AND CHERISHED THIS CAR FOR 14 YEARS HAVING BOUGHT IT FROM A WIDOWS ESTATE. IT WAS BOUGHT NEW BY HER BROTHER. HE BOUGHT IT NEW AND RAN IT UNTIL HE DIED IN 1958.
THE CAR WAS LEFT TO HIS SISTER WHO. THE FAMILY SAID. FOUND IT TOO BIG FOR HER AND PUT IT IN HER BARN. SHE WOULD NOT PART WITH IT BECAUSE IT WAS HER BROTHERS.

THE RESULT OF THIS WAS A CAR WITH NO RUST AND IN THE MOST ORIGINAL CONDITION POSSIBLE.

AS IT LOOKED LIKE IT HAD HAD A SHEET OVER IT SOME OF THE PAINT HAD CHAFE MARKS SO WE DECIDED TO REPAINT THE OUT SIDE PAINTWORK. ALL THE DOOR EDGES AND EVERYWHERE ELSE IS ORIGINAL AND FROM THAT YOU CAN SEE IT IS RUST FREE.

TO MAKE IT LOOK ITS BEST WE RECHROMED THE BUMPERS AND GRILLE AND HUB CAPS

OTHER WORK WE DID IS THE FOLLOWING.


STRIP AND REBUILD THE BRAKES. IT ONLY NEEDED NEW RUBBERS ( IT DIDN'T ACTUALLY NEED THESE BUT DID IT ANYWAY ) THE FRONT TO REAR BRAKE PIPE WAS REPLACED. ALL OTHERS ARE EXCELLENT AND ORIGINAL.

THE BRAKE DRUMS LOOKED AS IF THEY HAD JUST COME OFF THE STORES SHELF AND WE COULD NOT FIND ANY WEAR ON THE SHOES. ALL THESE ARE STILL ON THE CAR.

WE HAD THE ENGINE COMPLETLY REBUILT. NOT BECAUSE IT NEEDED IT-IT DIDN'T. WE DID IT WHILE ALL THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE.

A NEW CARB IS ALSO FITTED AND ALL ELECTRICS CHECKED OVER AND SERVICED.

EVERYTHING WORKS. ALTHOUGH THE CLOCK HAS SINCE STOPPED.
THERE IS SO MUCH TO LIST INCLUDING NEW TYRES. BATTERY ETC ETC.


I COULD SPEND AGES LISTING ALL ITS GOOD POINTS. BUT VIEWING IS BY FAR THE BEST RECOMENDATION. WE KNOW THIS IS REGARDED AS THE BEST ONE THERE IS FOR ORIGINALITY. IT HAS BEEN FEATURED IN TOP MAGAZINES AND COLLECTORS CAR PERIODICALS.

CARS OF THIS AGE WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RUST WHATEVER AND ALL ORIGINAL INTERIORS ARE LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT!

I TRUELY BELIEVE THERE ISN`T A BETTER ONE OF THESE ANYWHERE

YOU WILL NEED AN APPIONTMENT TO VEIW .
