E Type 1965 4. 2 Series 1 FHC The 4. 2 Series 1 is THE E type to have within the E Type world and the Blue chip investment in the classic car world. My E type also benefits from the fitting in the 70's of a genuine Webasto sun roof. So the weather proof and practicality of the fixed head with the feel of open top motoring on the few days the sun does shines. This combination is rated as Classic cars “ideal E type” having had a 3. 8 roadster previously I agree. no boot or space to put anything and the roof is about as mush use as a wet Kleenex. She is a numbers matching. UK car RH drive car with heritage certificate DVLA full owner trace and extensive history. She had a celebrity 1st owner. Charlie Drake. the 60's/70's comedian and TV star. green log book to prove. And a massive history and invoice file. again ticking all the right E type and classic car boxes. She has just been completed. after a 4 year ground up restoration. New projects mean I now reluctantly have to move her on. All aspects of her were renewed or refurbished. Invoices for new parts alone. amount to over £15k. with over 200 photos. Just put a few hundred miles on the clock since the restoration and she is running fine. But needs to be run in up to the 1000 mile mark. just like the old days. (limted to 2500 revs but that's still 70mph in an E type) She is has not been built as a concourse car (I'd be asking £100k plus) but a very smart very usable E Type. Here are some of the highlights of the restoration. Body - Shell taken to bare metal with glass. trim out doors off etc with full re spray including the underside. Also fully Dynamated to reduce interior temperatures Engine - Full engine rebuild by VSE the Jaguar engine specialist. Major Cooling upgrades electronic ignition and fuel pump fitted. Carbs overhauled. (sat in traffic for 1 1/2 hours in 20ºC temps the other week getting into a show and never missed a beat. temp 70ºC oil pressure 40psi all the time) Suspension - Suspension striped and rebuilt with new/poly bushes and new Spax adjustable shocks and springs new steering rack. Brakes - Full brake renew/overhaul including upgrade to 4 pot brakes and copper brake lines. Running gear - Gear box and rear axil stripped and refurbished new clutch and cylinder fitted. Wheels and tyres - New 6” chrome wire wheels and 205 tyres Exhaust - Stainless exhaust and tubular manifold Interior -Interior fully refurbished Electrical - New wiring loom gauges and switches refurbished upgraded lights fitted The list goes on. NB The upgrades carried to her are meant to address the so called “short falls” in the frequent running in modern day conditions of a series 1 E Type. However where upgrades have been installed the original parts have been retained to allow re installation if someone wishes. part come with the car. several £100's on their own £250 deposit reqyuired at the end of the auction via Pay Pal remainderd by bank transfer within seven days Advertised else where so my end auction early. Note I'm out of the country 13th-21st July. So collection with have to be before or after this date. If she does not sell this week I'll send her to the Classic car auction on the 29th of Jul,
