1967 Volkswagen Vokaro Kit Car. nbsp;MECHANICALLY REFRESHED. RUNS GREAT. HUGELY FUN!































The Old Oregon Motor Company presents:


1967 Volkswagen Vokaro Kit Car.  This car is based on a shortened VW Beetle pan and was produced by Vopard Industries of California in the 1970s.  This example was recovered from a barn several months ago and is titled as a 1967 VW.  It is powered by a 1600cc flat-four paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. and drives very well after a tune-up. a new battery. and a refresh of the braking system.  The car was recently fitted with Empi GT wheels wrapped with new tires. but it will need some electrical work for the lights to to be fully functional.  

These are open-air cars and come with no top or doors. This Vokaro is unusual for having a molded-in windshield frame rather than a bolt-on item.  The basic interior is in fairly good condition with mauve cloth seats and edging wrapping around the cockpit.  Seats. carpets. and side panels all look to be in good condition. while the simple painted dash shows a VW speedometer. fuel gauge. modern CD player. and unwired Sony speakers.

A theft of the previous stereo resulted in some damaged wiring that affected the headlights. taillights. wipers. turn signals. and gas gauge. all of which are non-functional.  The car still runs well and the brake lights work. but the wiring needs repair before the other components will function.  New heater hoses connecting to the holes in the side panels have been added. with heater controls located in the standard VW position next to the handbrake.

Overall the Vokaro runs. drives. and performs very well.  We have put over 200 miles on the car in the last few weeks.  Locals have been delighted to see it at the cruize-ins and always ask many questions.   The 1600cc flat-four sits in the rear and is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission.  The engine has recently been tuned-up with new plug wires. distributor cap. points. condenser. coil. and a new ignition.  A new battery. Empi exhaust system. and chrome valve covers were also added.  

The car is fitted with a stock VW suspension. while braking is performed by four wheel drums with a new master cylinder and rubber brake lines.  They have been bled using ATE Super Blue fluid.  The car has new tires fitted on new Empi GT wheels.

Unique. pretty. and tremendous fun for not a lot of money.  Don't miss it!

    2.     We accept Certified & Cashier's Checks and Bank transfers in US Dollars only.
    3.     The deposit is due immediately after auction closure. The balance is due within 5 days after auction closure. If the deposit is not received within 48 hours of the close of auction or if the balance is not paid in full within 5 days following the close of auction. we reserve the right to relist the vehicle or to sell it to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer.
    4.     Our goal is to continue providing quality vehicles. It is important to keep in mind that the vehicles we list are pre-owned. and it is very difficult to describe every small mark on them. As a consequence there may be additional minor wear on the vehicle that is typical of the age. such as minor superficial hairline scratches. small nicks and minor abrasions that are not indicated in this description. These factors will not detract from the overall appearance and value of the vehicle. Minor items such as cigarette lighters. manuals and CD magazines may also be missing.
    5.     To the best of our knowledge we have indicated any mechanical problems that are present in the description above. However. we are selling the vehicle "as is". without warranty other than any existing factory warranty that may still remain. In many cases we can provide extended service contracts at additional charge. Please inquire for details. Unless the vehicle has a remaining factory warranty. all sales are "AS-IS" with no warranty.
    6.     eBay may offer some type of warranty. If so. that warranty is separate and independent of Oregon Motor Company.

The final contract signed between both buyer and seller shall be binding. The final signed contract and terms thereof shall govern the sale. All disputes arising out of or relating to this auction. any negotiations. the Signed agreement. or to the breach. enforcement or interpretation thereof. shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Oregon. in accordance with the terms contained in the final sale agreement and under the laws of the state of Oregon.

The Old Oregon Motor Co. takes its name from the original Oregon Motor Company. a Ford dealership established in Portland in 1904.  In 1916. the company moved into their permanent showroom located downtown at NW 8th Ave. and Davis Street.  Today. the building is an art gallery and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.     Unlike its namesake.
