EXTERIORThis lovely 735i is finished in a very period shade of metallic gold which makes for a very tasteful contrast with the dark brown leather. The metal work is remarkably solid with no evidence of rust or previous repairs in any of the usual weak spots around the arches and sills. The paint work still presents very well with only a few minor stone chips and a small scratch on the edge of the passenger front wing. All the chrome work and plastic/rubber trims are in very good condition with no corrosion or discolouration. the only negative being a light scuff on the rubber bumper on the drivers side front corner. The underside of the car has been inspected on our ramp and remains in excellent order and is still well protected with the original BMW waxoyl. INTERIORThis 7 series has one of the most luxurious interiors. The leather is still soft and supple and the finish on the satin wood is perfect. all the controls work as they should and everything feels tight and precise. The car is fitted with a period 'Securicor' phone and an Alpine CD player. the phone is a factory dealer option at over £1k in the 80s!. All the carpets are in perfect condition and are still protected with the original set of BMW over-mats. the boot area is also exceptionally clean and all the tools are still present and correct. ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThis example has an excellent service history showing the car has been very well looked after throughout its life. Since arriving at 4 Star it has been fully inspected and serviced including a coolant and brake fluid change. The sump gasket was also replaced to stop a slow oil leak and the fuel tank and exhaust system have been replaced with genuine BMW items. The car drives beautifully. pulling smoothly through the gears. On inspection. the under bonnet panel work is excellent with no corrosion on the inner chassis rails. wings or battery tray. WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKESThe bottle top alloy wheels are all in very good original condition with only a few very light marks. they are all shod in the correct Michelin tyres that are all well above the legal limit. The inner wheel arches are exceptionally clean with no signs of corrosion in any of the areas where mud collects. The brakes are in fine working order and have just benefited from a replacement booster sphere and a fluid flush. HISTORY FILEThis example was first registered in June 1986 and has only had 4 owners in its 27 year life. It has the most amazing service history with over 30 BMW stamps in the service book. all from the supplying dealer 'Chandlers BMW'. A file has also been kept with all of the old service invoices detailing the work that has been carried out and further verify the cars low mileage. The original BMW document holder is also present with all the owners manuals. instruction guide for the phone (showing an installation cost of £1040 + VAT in 1986) and a set of spare keys.
