MGB 1964 Mk1 White (Pull Handle) Matching Numbers!
The MGB is a sports car launched by MG Cars in May 1962 to replace the MGA. The MGB Mk1 was the first of the MGB range to be produced. The body was a pure two-seater but a small rear seat was a rare option at one point. By making better use of space the MGB was able to offer more passenger and luggage accommodation than the earlier MGA while being 3 inches (75 mm) shorter overall. The suspension was also softer. giving a smoother ride. and the larger engine gave a slightly higher top speed. The four-speed gearbox was an uprated version of the one used in the MGA with an optional (electrically activated) overdrive transmission. Wheel diameter dropped from 15 to 14 inches (360 mm).

This example of the beautiful MGB Mk1 is finished in White with Red interior and Red roof.

The car is matching numbers and all original as it rolled out of the factory with the only difference being the wire wheels.

This car is now finished and as you can see from the pictures it is finished to concourse levels!

Listed below are what has been done to the car:

Full engine rebuild. including the following:
Re-bore and hone 4 cylinder block and hone to finish size
4 x New Pistons with rings
Remove core plugs and clean out cylinder block
Supply and fit new core plugs to cylinder block

Re-grind and polish crankshaft to finish size
1 x Main bearing set
1 x B/End bearing set
1 x Thrust washer set

Strip cylinder head
Decoke and clean
Pressure test cylinder head
Supply and fit all new valve guides
Machine out exhaust valve seats
Supply and fit 4 new heavy duty exhaust seat inserts
Re-cut all valve seats
4 x New exhaust valves
4 x New inlet valves
Lap in all valves and vacuum test
Skim cylinder head face
Assemble with new oil seals
Re-fit camshaft assemblies and re-adjust tappets

1 x Payen head gasket set
1 x PayenConversion gasket set

Acid Dipped original shell. dipped with SPL

Bare metal respray. car bare metalled all over and painted the same underneath as on top.
