VW Baywindow 1979

I know i'm going to regret this 'again' when it sells. Taxed till nov 13 and MOT july13. SO YOU CAN DRIVE AWAY TODAY. my insurance was £137 fully comp for a year!!!!!

So here we go. I've owned this bus(my 4th) for 2odd years now and spent lots on her as we all do who own them. I have had the front calipers replaced with recon ones and new pads then found out the the master cylinder had to be replaced too. The rear brakes have had new rear slave cylinders and shoes and then was put back together properly as the last person didn't have a clue!!!!. I then had the bus lowered by TD2 with an adjustable front beam. at the same time put on the new wheels and boots.

The engine has been replaced with a 1600tp and single glass pack exhaust. at the same time had the gearbox rebuilt and replaced one of the driveshafts that needed doing. I have recipets for all the work and new parts added. the engine is pretty much stock apart from a 009 dizzy with petronix ignition. the heater flaps and thermo are all inplace and working. it also has heat exchangers but the cables are siezed so I cable tie open the flaps in the winter and yes it does warm up inside lol. The engine and gearbox have only done 8000 odd miles. the starter motor has new bushes and solanoid so no problem starting. it changes gear like a new bus too. it's a joy to drive. Interior wise as you can see from the pics it has a full width rock n roll bed and  buddy seat all with brand new foam. the carpet needs to go it was just an off cut i chucked in for last summer but has got grubby now.

Bodywork. welding has been done in all the usual places but wont need anymore to pass next MOT. the rest of the bodywork is not the straightest hence the low reserve. I have replaced the passenger door for a rust free one and put new rubber on too. the sliding door needs replacing as some silly tart thought she would pull out the parking space without looking(see pics) as does the drivers door because where they rust(see pics). the key for the driver. passenger door i snapped in the lock. so i only have the one key for ignition. sliding door and the boot for now untill i buy new locks for the front doors.  the boot and engine lid could do with some filler but I do have a rust free engine lid to put on (just havent got round to it) I have put a link up for photobucket with a lot more pics.
