Background to the car

Originally assembled in 1965 by  The Brittains Group who produced cars on the Naas Road. Dublin. in a large assembly operation. but strangely had separate dealer networks for both Austin & Morris

The car has always resided in The Irish Republic  until it was imported and registered with the DVLA by myself in May. /span>

(The vehicle has just been allocated by the DVLA  1965 (C) prefix registration JNP859C . lease see photograph of Document. The new UK V5 will be available for the new keeper in time of auction end)

The car started life as a humble Morris Mini 850 this it remained until the early naughtie's when a chap from Louth decided to rebuild with the view of  road going Hill climbing/Sprints  machine. After collecting and purchasing all the necessary components  the rebuild was then put on Hold until the car was sold on to the last keeper  Arron. who completed the build in 2012.

Whats it like?

This was my comment that I placed on facebook  at the time.

Sometimes in the classic car business you see a car for sale. followed by a mega trip and then when you physically see it the veil of disappointment descends on you! well the opposite of this was my pleasure !

After a flight to Dublin . overnight at an airport hotel. the vendor was good enough to bring the car to the hotel. so imagine my delight when this stunning little pocket rocket turned up! not only did it look the part . he return trip after disembarking  from Holyhead to Hereford via Snowdonia taking advantage of some of the best roads and scenery anywhere' was an absolute joy ! the car was blistering . the handling and braking was a revelation "167 mile trip arriving in Hereford in 3 hours 5 mins!big smile on face . h' added bonus” trip completed at Majestic wine for a free tasting ' top day!

Condition of the vehicle. as shall be as critical as I can ( please read my feedback on other classic cars sold )

Shell:

The shell is in excellent condition. with no rust  issues that deserve  comment  both on the outer panelling and  floor pan .

Paintwork:

The cars looks resplendent in its Olde English White with black roof. /span>

The paint finish is very good the only imperfection that I can see that you can't  pick up on camera is on the passenger  door swage line that runs just below the mirror . his is not rust bubbling just the paint reaction . ut nothing that takes away from the overall excellent appearance of the car .

Drivetrain :

The engine is excellent in a very high state of tune with excellent oil pressure . o overheating issues . have yet to use choke to start the car the high compression gives it a serious kick and instant fire up . ike all high tune. igh compression  1380's you get a bit of run on after turning off . have been running on super unleaded and octane booster   this has helped a lot but a good rolling road set up would help .

Gearbox :

Superb! The K. A. D. Quickshift is brilliant . ardly any movement at all on the stick . ust lighting fast gearchanges.

Brakes :

Well what can I say about the set up . ne word . wesome ! total confidence inspiring .

Suspension:

The Bilstien all round set up has the car totally  pinned down . /span>

Wheels Tyres:

The Alley Kats and Yoko's are in excellent condition

Exhaust . /span>

Excellent

Interior:

The Interior is very good both seating . oor cards and carpeting.

Electrical:

All the systems are working bar for the recent  rally reversing light . hich can be decided by the new owner weather due to intensity whether  to wire on a separate switch or via gearbox.

The speedometer sulks on the stop now and again this is now doubt the cable as the clock has only covered a small distance since fitting

Overall Conclusion:

This car is brilliant . t is so much fun to drive and  the looks and positive comments it gets (let alone the photographs taken “ ) is amazing I

Every time you turn the key and head onto the road it is occasion. a car that can be used straight way and further fettled and wouldn't it be great to see her on the hills where she was originally envisaged

Many Thanks for looking and all the very best with your bid!

Best Regards

Dave

Please note: the cars I sell are “classic” cars and by nature and age are not of the reliability that is afforded to a modern car (apologies to the classic car enthusiasts for stating the obvious) but with all the best will in the world  whilst I would love then to stay totally reliable. but being old (like myself! )They can breakdown and you should be aware of this. if you have any doubt about classic car ownership or any of these facts kindly refrain from placing a bid on the car.

The car is as usual being sold with “No” Reserve !

Please Remember You Bid to Buy Not to Haggle.

Please note. The description of the vehicle is from my eyes and my opinion. you are warmly encouraged to view and inspect the car prior to bidding yourself . I will do my utmost to accommodate you. But once the auction has finished and if you are the winning bidder. you will be expected to conclude the transaction after being given this opportunity to inspect before the auction concludes. Please do not hesitate to call on : 07970383375 to arrange a viewing.

If the winning bidder is not UK Mainland based. it would be possible to deliver the car to a embarkation destination of their choice. once payment is received and the appropriate delivery tariffs have been met. it would be up to the winning bidder to organise the necessary on-going transportation and paperwork.

Please note! With two previous bidders who have had successful bids on other classics I have sold and have been European mainland based. they did not complete the sale quoting. they did not realise the logistics for transportation to the European mainland

Please. Please. Please!

If you are based on the European Mainland and you are going to bid on the car. please make sure you have the means to transport to the European mainland. also please make sure before you bid. that if you intend to road use the vehicle it can be registered in your country.

If you require additional pictures. please do not hesitate to email.

Now for the boring bits. I only sell good quality classic cars and describe the cars as accurately as I can and sell with honesty and integrity (please read my feedback) I have had on now 12! occasions individuals being the successful bidders on cars and not fulfilling the auction terms so wasting my time and stopping a genuine person getting the car. nbsp;

I am also sad to say had an individual who decided after winning the car thinking he could try and force me to sell the car for less intimating placing negative feedback!

I would be grateful if you could call Me on: 07970383375 or email before you bid to confirm your intentions are bona fide .

Many thanks for your understanding.

Dave.

Jazz Blog;

What a British Grand Prix at Sliverstone! Amazing performances and  some great car control . lot of this being down to the farcical situation over the tyres being supplied by Pirelli. do believe that the one make provider is detrimental  to F1. f there was a competitor they would. I am sure be providing a better carcass ! whilst of course' some cars and drivers  are  harder on tyres than others  . ou can't have it that races are being lost because a component  is failing right across all teams spoiling the racing and posing an unacceptable danger!
