For sale is my 1963 Triumph TR4. I purchased this car a few years ago out of a garage in Mesa Arizona where it had been sitting since the 70's. The second owner of the car parked it for an unknown reason.  Following his passing. I purchased the car from his granddaughter. When purchased. the car needed a substantial amount of parts and work to be roadworthy. I rebuilt all the hydraulic components. cooling system components. fuel system components (including a totally refurbished fuel tank). sourced all the missing difficult to find missing original parts for it from around the country and got things back to a functional state to where I could get the old girl back on the road. I have no reason to believe the miles are not original and accurate considering the condition of the car and the amount of time it sat dormant
With nearly 68000 miles on the original motor. it will need to be rebuilt at some point in the not too distant future. this is nearing the end of the service life for one of these little fellows. Compression and Oil pressure are both good. but there is a little noise in the lower end of the engine at idle.  This noise has not changed whatsoever in the 400 or so miles I've put on it. the engine does not smoke or burn any oil. It's a driver in its current condition. but I wouldn't take it on any cross country trips. The gearbox is solid and shifts well. the factory equipped overdrive unit is present. but does not engage due to what I suspect is a faulty solenoid. I have not addressed this as I don't drive this car on streets where an additional ratio would be required. The rear works as intended and makes no unexpected noise. A rebuilt assembly complete with rebuilt Moss Motors drum brakes will also be included with the sale. The brake and clutch hydraulics also work normally and have been rebuilt.

The car has had some sort of collision at one point in its long life as the hood. driver door and front fenders are a light blue color and appear to be from a TR4A. but it goes down the road well and took to a string alignment quite nicely and shows no sign of any structural problems. I suspect that these components were replaced. then the car was painted the primer it currently wears and left sitting for 30 or so years until I resurrected it.  The body itself is very solid. no rust is present anywhere.  There is some surface rust on the floor and in the battery tray. but that is all. No surprises here.  Sills are solid. no rust underneath.

The wheels are the original wire wheels that came with the car. I cleaned and painted them black for protective purposes and aesthetics and installed new tubes and some firestone FR tires. Also included in the trunk is the original 48 spoke spare wheel AND ORIGINAL SPARE MICHELIN TIRE -- super cool.

The interior of the car is pretty much stripped. but is functional from a minimalist standpoint. The seat frames are solid but need recovering. the carpet has been removed.  The door cards are present. but not in great shape. All the soft parts to make it nice can be purchased at Moss Motors and all of the pricey hard parts are present. There is no top included with the car. but the top frame is present and in great shape. These cars have a snap on type of top that you remove completely. This piece can also be purchased at Moss Motors.

The car has a clean Arizona title in my name and is currently registered. tagged and on the road. I will also be including a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate I purchased to show the original equipment and delivery date of the car and that the engine is the originally installed unit.

It's been a very fun car to own and I hate to see it go. but I also hate to see it just sitting there and I've got a new project I'm currently jamming on
. It's certainly something that can be driven as is and restored as you go.  I will happily work with potential buyers for inspections.  I am also open to whatever is necessary for shipment. I've been on both sides of these dealings quite a few times and am very easy to work with.  Contact me through the auction with a phone number if you'd like to chat. I'll call you as soon as I can.
