Priced at £4350 – an absolute bargain. especially with the way Midget values are moving! These early Midgets are really beginning to become desirable. This Signal Red example is no exception and would prove to be an excellent investment for the future. and offers much opportunity for improvement to add further to its value. Being a later chrome bumper car. it benefits from having wind-up side windows. a removable hood. exterior door handles. along with other features that the earlier cars didn't have!

The car was restored around 4 years ago. and work since then has included:

·         Professional respray 4 years ago·         Full engine rebuild 9000 miles ago (fast road camshaft. polished and ported cylinder head. unleaded conversion. HS4 carburettor. alternator conversion)·         Full gearbox rebuild 2000 miles ago·         Rebuilt front suspension·         New fuel tank and fuel pump·         Big bore stainless exhaust system and LCB manifold·         Hi-torque starter fitted·         Electronic ignition fitted·         New hood·         Retrimmed seats and new foams·         New door panels·         New Moto-Lita steering wheel·         New wheels and tyres·         New water pump·         Fibreglass front wings fitted at time of respray

The car comes with an MOT until January 2017. and is ready to drive away. I can't see there being any issues for the next MOT. The 1275cc engine starts. and the car runs and drives very well indeed. The engine has excellent oil pressure and does not overheat. Recent works include:

Bodily. the car appears to be pretty solid and is very presentable – however. it's a while since it was last painted so there are some imperfections here and there. When the car was last repainted. the owner fitted fibreglass wings – not to everyone's taste but they don't rust! There is a bit of spidering which shows on close inspection. I've tried to show this in the pictures. The wing-top seams at the rear are very solid indeed. but there is some bubbling along the tops of the doors. and along one door bottom. That said. it's nothing to worry about – you can either use the car as it is. or get the little bits and bobs sorted when you please. Wheelarches are nice and solid.

Structurally. the car appears to be very solid indeed – the floors. sills and spring hangers all look good. I can't see there being any welding issues for a good few years to come. The car hasn't been undersealed to death. so is not hiding any horrors!

All in all. this is a great opportunity for someone who wants a well-sorted car that can be used regularly without any worries. It's not a show car but presents very nicely indeed. and would even be great as a car to compete in historic rallying. They're also fairly cheap to insure if you're under 25. too.

It's not the usual tarted-up piece of junk – the work which has been carried out appears to have been done to a good standard.

Please take your time looking through the photos – I am not trying to hide anything from prospective buyers. like the vast majority of people on eBay these days. Just check my feedback. and you'll see that I'm a completely honest seller.  Do remember that there is no substitute for coming to see the car yourself.

I strongly recommend viewing the car if you plan to buy. I've described it as well as I can. It is sold as seen with no warranty because of its age. and it must be inspected before you hand over any money. All funds must be cleared before the car can be taken away. UK BIDDERS ONLY. PLEASE!

The car must be collected from my home in Chorlton. Manchester. M16. If you have ANY questions – please ask them BEFORE buying.

I can potentially arrange delivery by trailer at extra cost. but again. the car must be inspected before you pay me.

PAYMENT BY PAYPAL IS NOT ACCEPTED.
