Selling my great driving 65 Corvair Coupe. I bought it a few years ago from a fellow Corsa Club member. who garaged it many years after a respray and mechanical refreshing. I did some more work on the mechanicals to make it a reliable and fun driver. It is painted in beautiful metallic navy blue. really pops at ten feet but has scattered scratches and chips as well as some small areas of tiny bubbling from poor paint prep. Won't win at a car show except as "People's Choice. " Always attracts admirers. Powerglide automatic (these are indestructible) and 95hp engine. which has the lowest compression. Engine is known for reliability. has essentially the same low end power as the other versions. makes a great backroad/around town driver. Will cruise at 60-70mph. No dents. no serious rust except some linear tears in the bottom of the front trunk which are nicely covered. Nevertheless. the trunk holds the spare tire and tools and is fairly solid. Rockers are solid all around. no exterior rust. I believe the interior is original and it is in very presentable shape. No upholstery tears. front seatbottoms are a bit soft. Like-new 13 inch tires with period correct "spinner" hubcaps. Aftermarket wood steering wheel from Clark's.

Mechanicals: Positives- Everything works including the original AM radio except it needs a new antenna. Converted to dual zone brake system. all brake lines changed except the big front one that would require gas tank removal. New brakes all around. New tierods. appropriate short steering arms. Front springs cut one coil to even out the stance front to back. Aftermarket tach in the central nacelle that was blank (clock was an option). Individual air cleaners mounted.

Negatives- 1. Rear engine vent bellows not operational so would be hard to start in the middle of the winter. I keep it garaged and only drive in non-salt seasons. 2. Heat works but does bring some gas smells into the cabin. Defrosts weakly. 3. Right hand signal sticky. sometimes have to manually cancel. 4. Balky driver side door window. Probably a bent regulator. Goes up and down with a little "encouragement" by your other hand.

Odometer shows 39000 which the previous owner claims is true. I have no proof. Comes with original steering wheel and hubcaps and aircleaner. Has a locking spare tire mount in the engine compartment. NY has no titles for cars this age but it is registered and inspected and can be transferred to any state.
