Triumph TR7 Convertible 1980 £32,000 Restoration for sale

£31. 00 ground up. bare metal restoration
In 2014/15 over a period of 14 months the car was subject to a restorative project which surpasses anything I've seen in my 30 years as a motorist and avid car fan.
Put simply and investment of over £30. 00 has been spent on the restoration with the sole aim of recreating a car that remained true to the original. down to every last nut and bolt detail as it would when it left the factory in Canley. nbsp;Coventry.
This is one of the first cars built at the Canley Factory (Triumph being plagued by build quality issues at the Halewood plant in Speke between 1976 and 1980 due to workers continually striking). so the workers at the Canley plant had to prove a point and as a result the build quality improved beyond recognition.
The original car at the start of the project was solid. low mileage and had been in storage for 10 years. however. as it was important to achieve the best end product an 'open chequebook' approach was adopted and the ensuing restoration is summarised below:-
Mechanical strip down and rebuild £13kBody work using Triumph parts by Heritage £6k (Wheels and tyres over £1k)Bare metal respray etching primer. primer. 2 coats and lacquer £3500Rimmer Brothers £5kAdditional items including the best quality Mohair hood (this is the only deviation from the model which obviously originally would have been supplied with a vinyl roof £5kOver 500 high resolution photo's on USB stick come with the car. as well as a large box of hard to find spares. filters. nuts. bolts and washers. There are cars out there for sale for anything between a couple of grand to one being advertised for £40k. This model is increasing in value with correctly restored examples being very rare.
Sadly. now for sale due to an unforeseen change in personal circumstances. which I will explain fully to any prospective purchaser.
Detailed overview of the restoration is detailed below:
Purchased from S&S Preparations. Bacup Lancashire – a company established for over 30 years. S&S are one of the UK's leading TR7& and TR8 specialists
Registered on 1. 4. 1980
The vehicle has had three previous owners (the third owner being S&S preparations as a trader). It is understood that the last private owner purchased the vehicle at 6 months old. The vehicle was dry stored from 2003 to 2014.
The chassis. front suspension turret. inner flitch. bulkhead. whole boot area and bonnet and rear quarter panels are/is original with no repair welding anywhere on the car

In Summary
If it's a TR7 that you are looking for then please look no further. I have seen examples listed as concourse only to find they need thousands spending on them. I am advertising the car here to generate interest and hopefully attract a buyer before the car goes to auction in November. Although upwards up £30k has been spent. I'm realistic in what I think the car is worth and am looking for a fraction of the restoration project. I have an independent valuation of £17. 00 and the agreed insurance value is set at £15. 00.
Enquiries welcome from the trade and I am happy to answer any questions.
I would consider a p/x on a low mileage and mint LR Discovery 4 as I'm about to embark on a lifetime ambition of building a Caterham.
