Technical specifications, photos and description:
Perhaps one of the most iconic cars of the 20th Century is the diminutive Fiat 500 in production from 1957 to 1975 with almost 4. 00. 00 units built. This tiny 4-seater saloon featured an air-cooled 2 cylinder engine with an initial capacity of just 479cc producing 13bhp. From 1960. the engine size was increased to 499cc and this engine remained until 1973 with the introduction of the run-out "R" edition fitted with the later 126 engine. The "L" or Lusso specification was introduced in 1968 and featured a revised. more modern interior and chrome nudge bars.
Our 500L is one of the last built and has recently been the subject of a complete mechanical overhaul as well as benefiting from the replacement of interior trim and carpets. Bodywork is generally sound but both rear arches require attention. Running sweetly. this right-hand drive example sits on painted steel wheels with correct Cinturato tyres and has the added benefit of a fold-back fabric roof. With current MOT to November 2016. this baby Fiat is ready to be enjoyed immediately.
