1965 Mustang Fastback 2+2

Black with Black interior. Rebuilt 302 V8. Holley carb. aluminum Edelbrock intake. headers and gt-style exhaust. automatic transmission. aluminum radiator. front disc brakes.

Fun to drive and turns heads.    Car runs strong. can handle 75 mph on the highway and doesn't die or stall out.    I have owned the car for 10 years and have spent a lot of time and money to bring it to it's current state (Repainted end of 2014). Started life as true fastback car -- not a coupe conversion. It is a T-Code 6 cylinder car so to make it a V8 also had to change out all suspension. steering. rear end. change to 5 lug. cross members. etc.

1965 -- First year of the Mustang Fastback body style. 2+2 Fastback meaning 2 seater and also has room for 2 passengers in the rear with the fold down seat.     Original color was gold. it was dark green when I purchased it.

I purchased a 1965 coupe that had all the V8 parts and I resold that car as a shell with my 6 cylinder parts.    It had a rebuilt 302 with less than 500 miles on it and the transmission shifted smoothly.    They were pulled from the car together and not separated and dropped into the fastback.     I purchased all of the following parts new:  tie rods. front disc brakes. replaced rear drums. 15x7 styled steel wheels. tires. mustangs plus Grab-A-Track shocks front and rear. coil springs. aluminum radiator. silicone radiator hoses. engine wiring harness. headers. exhaust through lower valance like the GT's. monte carlo bar. carb. intake. water pump. fuel pump. alternator. weather stripping. side mirrors. emblems. front and rear bumbers. etc.   Car also just had a fresh oil change.   The rear end. steering (manual). pitman arm. control arms. leaf springs. drive shaft. cross members. accelerator linkage. etc. came from the coupe donor car and keep in mind there's some parts like the v8 spindles that aren't reproduced so that was the only option.

Car has always been garage kept and never driven in the snow.    All the gauges. lights. bright lights. courtesy light work as they should.    The wipers work but not sure if the wiper fluid needs a new motor or just fluid as I never drive it bad weather so the washer fluid is not used.    There's a few minor imperfections in the paint (single stage) but the car looks great in person. cleans and shows nice. and gets compliments everywhere I take it.   The doors line up nice and shut with ease and the jams are nice and clean.     There is a little bit of surface rust on top of the gas tank under the plaid trunk kit as seen in the photos.

On the inside. carpet was replaced (with mass back for extra sound deadener). new floor mats. new stereo and speakers. and new steering wheel.    There is a little bit of light pitting on some of the interior chrome pieces that weren't replaced like the window cranks and door handles.     Also as seen in the photos there is a few scratches on the rear interior panels from the seat folding up and down but can easily be repainted or touched up.

I created a youtube account and posted a few short videos.     They include a warm engine start. the door closing. and the exhaust  (AP turbo mufflers have the perfect sound without being obnoxious like some of the flowmasters).

Also included is a set of new stock pedals if you're not a fan of the Eleanor style pedals and a set of stock rear seat belts.      This is an early 65 model so you would have to add mounting holes for the rear belts and also since its an early 65 there's no back up lights (reverse lights) by the rear exhaust.

I've only put about 2500 miles on the car over the 10 years I've owned it.    The odometer currently shows approx 84k miles but the title (clean Colorado title) has the mileage as exempt as there's no way to tell how many times over the 50 years that the odometer may have turned over from previous owners.

Hate to see it go but need to fund another project.    Sorry no trades.
