Hello and welcome to the reluctant sales of our much loved 2001 Rover Mini Seven. one of the last 300 I have been informed off but unsubstantiated. nbsp;a true made in Britain. British icon famously and lovably recognizable all round the world by car enthusiasts and non enthusiasts alike . Having to be sold as our family has now double in size to four with the arrival of our twin girls. I know people often give excuses as to why they are having to sell there classic making it sound like their lose is another's gain but in our case there is no other reason. this car is now to small for us and it would be a poor decision to have it sitting in a garage indefinitely. the car would not be going anywhere due to any other reason.
The Mini has been in our families ownership since it was approximately three years old. Initially purchased from new by an elderly lady. who moved abroad to live with her daughter.  We first came across this little car whilst it was parked in the Salisbury's car park. were we left a note requesting first refusal if ever the owner was to consider selling. A year later the car was in our possession. first owned by my sister. then father and finally ourselves.  It has been maintained regardless of cost whilst keeping it as original as possible. true to as it would have been when it had left the Rover factory.  Regularly wax oiled and garage kept it has only had summer use and mainly to shows.  The Millage at 14000 is low but not that low to the point where it has been inactive which can cause problems. as indeed with any vehicle left untouched whilst in storage.  The Mini is not a concourse example. you will not find here a spotlessly clean engine bay where you would be able to cook an egg on the top of the rocker cover and eat it.  It is however a very clean rust free example open to any inspection prior to purchase. which of course would be logical.
The interior is as new. the carpet red in could condition. as is the dash. roof lining and door cards.  The seats are practically new without any wear or sagging. there is a vertical cut located to the side of the drivers seat back (please see picture). which seems to have been done by a scalpel or similar blade as it is that thin. This damage occurred mysteriously whilst competing at a car show two years ago. Lesson to me. never leave your car unlocked prior to entering a show and shine competition at a car show!!).  I believe this to be the only defect to the interior but any new owner may find further defects on closer inspection. Please remember that this car is 15 years old and was made from left over parts at the Rover factory.
Permission was given to Rover's new owners The Phoenix Consortium allowing them to continue the production of the Classic Mini for a limited run until the new replacement BMW Mini was introduced and Rover parts exhausted. Models included The Classic Mini Cooper. Classic Mini Cooper S. Mini Knightsbridge (European market only. introduced as a limited run prior to the Sports 500) and that of my own model the Se7en. which was the first of the final 'Classic" edition Minis.  This model has a modern take on the original classic designed interior of the Mk1 Mini. The three British Classic edition available in the UK had a production run from March to October 2000.
The engine is basically the same 1275cc A series unit found in all Mini's be they 998's or the larger 1275 but has been modernized to incorporate MPI Fuel Injection. ECU. Ect.  The gear box was also improved. (I say that loosely) for better motorway driving. The problem is that this little adjustment was not liked by the original gear booked which resulted in the infamous crunch between 2nd and 3rd gear. A well documented problem known by all who own one of these late model Sevens.  I did get a quote to have the box rebuilt but considered it not to be economical. due to the little yearly use it had.  I simply practiced what the driving instructors would call eco driving going from 2nd to 4th when I could or slowly dropping from 3rd to 2nd. (my father was always better then I with this technique).
Seals. floors. and boot all solid. door bottoms have bee repaired due to tin worm that even finds its way whilst in a garage stored over the winter months. Alloys are good but do show some signs of corrosion under the paint in certain areas. Engine bay bulk head has been restored by a very well known Mini specialist in Nazzing. Essex some years ago and was money well spent as it is still as good as the day it was done.  Jacking points located under the A post have been squashed by tyre fitters using hydrolic jack's where not appropriate. the floor directly under the jacking points have also been dented as a result. this I discovered whilst having the car up on a friends ramp to take photos. However this is not the end of the world. all of the damage occurring as a direct result can be easily fixed by lifting up the carpet and using a panel hummer and dolly for the floor and  a flat ended tool to be placed between the floor and jacking points to open them up again.
I have removed the catalytic converter and replaced it with a straight flow section as I was getting annoyed with it catching all the speed bumps. it is stored in the boot and can be refitted at any time.
I would like the car to go to someone who will cherish it as myself and family have done throughout our many years of ownership and as such would not be adverse to anyone from abroad who has a genuine interest getting in touch.  I could not help with any recommended international shipping companies but would be available to assist in any way I could. for example signing the relevant papers and having it taken to the relevant port with the cost being that of the new owner for transportation of vehicle.

A £500 deposit paid via Paypal or via BASC to be paid within 48 hours to secure purchase or car will be relisted.
