ROLLS ROYCESILVER WRAITHSEDANCA DE VILLE. COACHWORK BY H. J. MULLINER.  1948.
We are a small family business and have been trading locally for the last 47 years. We predominantly sell modern vehicles. however classic and vintage cars are our real passion. and here is such an example.
Relisted due to certain ebay users who have obviously nothing better to do than waste everyones time. I would please ask respectfully to only bid if you are genuinely serious about owning this wonderful car.
What an amazing opportunity to own a post war Rolls Royce Silver Wraith with the extremely rare Sedanca de Ville coachwork by H. J. Mulliner.  Chassis no WCB58 and still carries its original registration number GSF 50 of which we have a current V5 stating such. We also have copies of its original Rolls Royce chassis and body build details clearly showing it as being a matching number car. and it still has its original chassis plate fitted on the bulkhead under the bonnet.
The car was originally supplied to W & JR Watson at their business address of Hailes paintworks in Edinburgh. The company can be traced back to approx October 1891. Only 4 years after delivery the car crossed the border and remained in the UK until the early 70s where it then crossed the water into Halifax Canada. At some point in the 70s it appears to have made its way into the States and was repatriated with the UK again in 2011.
The car has some very nice features particularly the Sedanca roof which is all present and correct. it also has a centre electric division and a pair of sideways hinging occasional seats.
This Silver Wraith has already had a considerable amount of time and money spent on restoration work to date. and this includes a really nice body repaint in a two tone red. it is actually to a very good standard and does not really need any further work to the paint finish apart from some general detailing. particularly round door window frames. seals etc. Even the wheel trims have been finished to a very good matching standard.
The chrome work all looks original and will no doubt need some attention. A couple of the bonnet lock down handles are broken but these are available.
The interior has also had a lot of work done to it. The front and rear seats and door panels have all been retrimmed in new leather. however the rear armrests still need doing. as do the carpets and obviously there will be the odd thing like draught excluders. door seals etc to do. and the headlining section on the sedanca roof. The woodwork is also complete but will need looking at. All of the door and window winder handles and escutcheons are present and were placed in position purely for the purpose of taking the pictures. All of its instruments look present and correct. It also carries its body makers brass plate on the inside of the door shut.
Mechanically although we have only driven it on our premises. it appears to be very sound. It starts instantly on all 6 cylinders and sounds really good with excellent oil pressure. The clutch operates fine and it goes in and out of all gears with no problems. It does have brakes although the handbrake I think will need attention.
As far as we can see it appears to be complete apart from its mascot and a front door quarter light glass which is not a problem as it is only a flat piece of glass and the other side is present to use as a pattern. and the dash grab handle. It has a spare wheel. and wheel cap spanner along with some other odds and ends in the boot. Speaking of the boot there is also a roller blind assembly which presumably rolls down to cover the boot area whilst driving along with the boot lid open perhaps when a trunk is fitted.
I think that covers everything. If I have missed anything. you can email or preferably contact Roger on 07774564465. alternatively you are welcome to come and view the car before the end of the auction. it is located in Bromley. Kent.
Please do not ask how much to buy it now. cars as rare as this do not often come on to the market. therefore we would ask you to put your best bid in early and we strongly advise you do not to leave it until the last minute and then miss out as so often happens. We have put what we consider to be a low reserve on the car especially having looked at similar examples on the market which need total restoration. and feel that the work already carried out on the car would probably exceed what we are anticipating it will fetch.
Now for the important bit. I would respectfully ask again that people follow ebay rules. that is to say please have the curtousy to only bid if you are in a position to fulfill the contract which you are entering once you have placed an auction bid. If there is someone who is lucky enough to win this car please be aware that all funds are to clear fully before the car is released.
We do reserve the right to end the auction early.
To sum up this is fantastic opportunity for a new owner to have the to chance own a piece of British motoring history. a rare coachbuilt Rolls Royce which has essentually had all the expensive hard work down. and now really just needs some more detailing and recommisioning. With interest rates at an all time low what a great investment opportunity. and is surely better than having the money sitting in the bank.
If there is someone lucky enough to win the car we can possibly arrange delivery obviously at the new owners expense.
Please no dreamers or time wasters.
Please read my feedback and bid with total confidence.
Finally all I would like to add is good luck and thanks for looking.
