1940 Mercury Convertible

1940 Mercury Convertible RestoRod . Chevy subframe and running gear. 350 Crate motor with polished manifold and carb. turbo 350 tranny. Power brakes and steering. electric windows. air conditioning. chrome wheels with wide white wall tires. New exhaust system. Nice driver quality street rod. Could be show quality with minimal effort.

This is the second time I have owned this car. I bought it the first time about seven years ago but then got involved in another project. I got an offer on the car and sold it. The new owner installed a new 350 engine and transmission. air conditioning. new carpets and new exhaust system. Due to health reasons he needed to sell the car and offered it to me so I bought it back. I'm selling the car because my interests have gone in a different direction. There are a few issues that need to be considered. The top does operate automatically. The vacuum operated rams are there and I have never attempted to repair them since the top operates easily by hand. I have heard that 1941 ford electric rams will fit. The speedometer is original and not functional. There are shops who can repair it or you could switch over to digital. The other gauges have been updated. The passenger side door evidently swung open and creased the door at the hinge. The door still functions fine. See the photo closeup.

This is a rare and desirable car that gets a lot of attention on the road and at car shows. It's fancier than a 1940 Ford convertible.
