Here we have a rather lovely and rare Humber Hawk MK6. The MK6 Hawk's main difference from the earlier cars is the fitment of the larger and more powerful 2. 2 litre overhead valve engine. This particular has the added advantage of being fitted with the desirable overdrive option. This car has been lovingly restored by its previous owner and as such is in lovely condition. The body and paint are in super condition throughout. all the chrome is as new and she is fitted with excellent tyres and a stainless steel exhaust system. The boot area and engine bay are both presented well. The interior door cards have all been re-trimmed and a new head lining fitted along with new carpets. all the wood veneers and dashboard are in excellent condition. The leather seats are very presentable but do have some wear/patina to them.  The car starts on the button and runs very well. the water pump has just been rebuilt. she is a lovely car to drive and rather surprised me how well and pleasurable she is to drive  :-)
One or two small things need attention as since the cars restoration it has never had a shake down. There are a couple of body/suspension rattles. the brakes pull slightly to one side which I think a simple adjustment should sort. She drops out of gear occasionally. usually third when the column gear lever is in the upward position. it gradually drops downwards towards neutral.  I think it is due to loose linkages and may take up with a little tinkering and adjustment. she does not jump out of gear. if you hold one finger on the lever very lightly its stays in gear. I am just too busy at present to look at it.  Despite a couple of little niggles this Humber is a real pleasure to drive. of all the cars in my workshop at present this is the one I jump in the most to use.
