1977 Other Makes marathon

1977 Checker Marathon A12 in original. unrestored condition. Always a private car. never been a cab. I bought this checker to keep in my personal collection but plans have changed and now I have reluctantly decided to sell it.  
This Checker is factory equipped with a Chevrolet 350 V8 4bbl and a turbo-400 automatic transmission. Factory Power steering and power disc brakes. It starts easy. has good oil pressure and doesn't seem to overheat. The brakes work well. Front end feels solid with very minimal amount of sloppiness. Decent set of tires with good tread. In my opinion it drives pretty good. It had been sitting for at least a few years when I purchased it and I have not done much with it since then. It currently doesn't need anything obvious to be driven but it should have a thorough evaluation and servicing before it should be put into daily use. Also. some of the factory emissions equipment (air pump. nbsp;egr valve etc. ) have been removed. I do have all of the parts and they will come with the car. The catalytic converter is still in place. so reinstalling all of the emissions equipment should be pretty straight forward if it had to be reinstalled to be inspected.  
It has a cheap paint job that looks good from 20 feet away but close up it shows flaws like small dings and imperfections that have been painted over. It's good enough for a driver. but if you're fussy about your paint job then this one is probably not for you. Body shows no visible rust or cancer. The original factory undercoating is still in good condition and shows no obvious structural rust underneath. The trunk has a few very small BB size rust holes and it looks to have been coated with a "POR-13" type coating at some point in the past. Overall. this is a very solid example of a Checker.
Interior is clean. original and in decent shape for the age. It has a working cd player and aftermarket gauge cluster installed in the factory meter/radio location. The windshield has a small amount of haze developing around the edges. All of the other glass is good. Gauges. wipers and fan work. Headlights and tail lights work. Weather stripping is original and in fair/poor condition.
Odometer reads 34000. I don't not know the true miles. It has a clean Oregon title. It does not come with license plates. 21 day Trip permits are available from the Oregon DMV for a small fee. Although this Checker runs and drives as it is I would not consider it ready for any type extended road trip until it has been thoroughly evaluated. I would recommend shipping the car to it's new home.  This Checker is being sold as-is. where-is with no warrantee written. expressed or implied. It is the buyer's responsibility to perform all necessary due diligence before placing a bid.
