CORTINA MK1 1500 SUPER - LOVELY EXAMPLE

This is the reluctant sale of my Cortina 1500 Super! last owner since 1999 and owned by our friend who is not with us anymore from new in August 1964

The Cortina is in Lovely Condition throughout. The Bodywork was resprayed to a good standard last summer and is also Extremely Straight! All the Wheelarches and Sills etc are Excellent! The outer sills were replaced many years ago to a very good standard.

The Interior is Excellent and has a Lovely Patina and Smell with only the carpets fading a little. but not frayed or worn out! The Seats look and still feel only a few years old and certainly dont resemble being nearly 50 years old. The Doorcards are almost mint and not warped at the bottoms through being damp or wet! its a really nice place to be!

The Cortina has only covered just over 60000 miles but has had a replacement engine in the mid 80's apparently when Ellen. the first owner managed to seize it up as the story went! It was replaced with a 120E GT Engine and a High Compression Unleaded Head as this was all the engine center had in stock at the time! The standard Zenith Carb was retained and I can tell you thats its a very sweet. revvy little engine! I have fitted a Big Header Radiator and had a few underbonnet parts powder coated.

The Car also benefits from having a Full Stainless Exhaust System fitted with larger boxes and is nice and quiet.

There are 4 New Tyres fitted and New Brakes. Brake Pipes and Flexis were all professionally fitted for the recent MOT which is untill March 11th 2014! There is also 12 months tax on it too so its ready to drive away.

The Cortina drives really nice! The steering is nice and light with the big steering wheel and the skinny crossplys! It gets so much attention everywhere it goes from thumbs up at the traffic lights to people wanting to chat at petrol stations etc.

Its in really lovely condition and looks retro cool with all the chrome! I will include a 2000E Gearbox with the car as I know I just wont get time to fit it! my vision was to fit the gearbox. nbsp;a twinchoke carb and a nice set of Lotus Steels and leave it at that! . But. thats upto the new owner!!
